I'm happy with the direction v1.1 is taking the game

I've seen a lot of gripes on the forum, the past day or so, about how disappointed some people are with certain factors of the patch; but in terms of the general direction the game seems to be taking -- I'm very satisfied. My opinion of Elemental now is that the game is moving towards something that more resembles Master of Magic in gameplay and mechanics, as opposed to the "Fantasy GalCiv" that it was. With regards to the game mechanics, everything seems to be moving in the right direction for what I was expecting out of the game: a "spiritual successor" to MoM.

It's good to see a positive post like this. I agree on the general direction as well. It's good to see the effort SD has already put into turning it around for the better. Coupled with the offer they made on the free expansion packs I don't think I have any right to keep bitching about the game and we should look forward, like you do as well.

If they keep up the good work and will be true to their promises I have no doubt Elemental will live up to its expectation it had before initial release.

V1.1 is a good step. k1

Thanks.  yea, now that v1.1 is released, I can go to town on the AI to a much deeper level.

I'd like to see the tactical AI addressed prior to v1.2 and have asked those involved on that part of the AI to address some of the things I've read and witnessed.

I am also very happy with 1.1.  It was awesome to see it come together after all those beta patches and user suggestions.  In my city walmart has EWOM on sale for $15.  With 1.1 patch out that is a complete steal.  I'm giving it to all my fantasy game fan friends for xmas.

I got to spend some time playing 1.1 the last two days and I am very happy with the patch.  Brad mentioned that the he wants to improve the tactical AI, but to my surprise, a couple of the bad guys went after my poorly armored sovereign and by passed her protectors.  Thank Pariden for Blink, or she was screwed.
