[1.09p] Beta Buglist

Because everybody loves a good Buglist.

This patch has been indefinitely better than the previous patch. A lot of the issues from before have disappeared almost over-night, and I've only crashed once in almost two hours of play. The Developers are really on the ball. So, without further ado! More Bugs to report! Some are even new! This is a beta after all.

(As with the last thread, this will be an evolving list, where I'll post all of the bugs I find as I find them.)

Patch 1.09p Bugs

  • When creating a new faction in the Workshop's Faction Creator, entering in a back story for your new Faction is overwritten when you click different parts of the screen, or any other button except "Save" - which saves your faction. The only way around this, to create a proper back story for your Faction is to leave it until the dead last, and then hit "save" immediately afterwords.
    • This is easy to recreate, seeing as it happens each and every time I do it.
  • Playing as a Male Mancer Character Sovereign (With a Mancer based New Faction) prevents me from being able to buy Traveler Boots. Female Soldiers created from the Egalitarian faction strength are not able to equip either the Traveler Boots or the Traveler/Journeyman Cloaks.
    • Even buying the Traveling Boots on one Hero, and transferring it to my Sovereign wasn't enough, he still wasn't able to equip it. It seems that Mancers in general can not equip the Traveling Boots. Perhaps this is a possible oversight?
  • After about an hour of gameplay, battles have a tendency to go in fast and/or slow motion. The paper dolls will move without animation, and often times attacks can take up to 5-10 seconds to enact after being activated.
    • This appears to occur as a result of slow-down or memory loss. It's easily recreated simply by playing for an extended period of time, signifying that this is caused by a memory loss. (This is a recurring bug, that was a problem in 1.09o as well)
  • On occasion, the paper dolls will move without animation. This effect can last from a single move, to almost a minute in duration.
    • This appears to occur as a result of slow-down or memory loss, which has a tendency to happen a lot with Elemental after a battle, or after merging/splitting unit stacks. (This is a recurring bug, that was a problem in 1.09o as well)
  • Page Up and Page Down do not always cycle through all of the cities.
    • Page Up only cycles through four of my five cities, while Page Down only cycles through three of my five cities. It's a rather strange occurrence, and sadly it's causing me to stop using Page Up/Page Down entirely, since it's not reliable. (This is a recurring bug, that was a problem in 1.09o as well)
  • When a Sovereign dies in a Battle, he stays alive, while every one of the Heroes (Who did not die) disappear, even if the battle was won afterwords.
    • I was not able to recreate this bug with a previous Auto-Save, I purposely let him die in two other battles, and even lost one battle.
  • Monsters are now spawning inside of my Zone of Influence. I'm not entirely sure if this is a new feature to increase the difficulty (I'm playing on Normal,) but as far as I remember, it's never happened before in any of the other versions I've played.
    • It happens maybe once every 30 minutes, and it's usually Swarm Spiders that do it. I've had a pack of 8 swarm spiders spawn near my major Tech Producing town, which really made me sweat.
  • Upon Loading an already existing "New Faction" in the Workshop's Faction Creator, and then changing their race from Mancer to Man, the clothing/hairstyle randomization feature used in the "Choose Your Faction" listings no longer changes from a pair of bare-bones models to showcase the faction.
    • It only occurs with the faction I've edited in the Workshop's Faction Creator, and it's a persistent bug.
      • I was able to recreate this bug with my other Created Faction. Again, just by loading up the faction and changing it's race in the Workshop's Faction Creator.
  • The choice of "Cartographers" and the "Mapping Technology" in the Workshop's Faction Creator don't actually show anything in the Tech Listings when you play the game with the faction. Nor does it effect anything in the tech lines, signifying that this choice doesn't actually work.
  • NPC's seem to duplicate much more frequently. It's becoming a bit disconcerting to see your enemy having the exact same heroes as you have.
    • This happens in every game. Usually it's those 'Viy' guys, but lately even Raline the Weaver has twins now.
  • In the middle of a Tactical Battle, the game has a tendency to have the combat hitch and freeze. The game no longer functions, and any commands made will no longer work. The only way to fix it was to restart the game after CTRL + ALT + DEL to the Task Manager and shutting off the game manually.
  • After casting the Return Spell on my main Soveriegn's party, the lone sentry unit Hero by the name of Naleuha in the capital city's avatar scrambled out with weird purple effects.
    • This happened once so far. I'll update this when I get more information.
  • Recruiting a Hero and his troupe of Two Champions cost me initially 689 Gildar. I had 908 in the bank when I did this. After doing the recruitment, I found myself -28 Gildar! Obviously the cost was not up front, nor was the game capable of handling the massive recruitment price... it's the first time I've ever seen the Gildar go into the negative.
    • This is easy to recreate, simply recruiting any Hero with a Troupe of Champions with a discount (From Adventure Tech Bonuses) causes this to occur.
  • Casting the spell, "Revive Land" upon a Dark Mithrilar Shrine caused an "Enchanting Pool" to appear. Upon going up to the Enchanting Pool, I received a ring, "Ring of Essence", which grants +1 Essence an old attribute.
    • All this pool gave me was the +1 Essence Ring, it doesn't appear to give anything else.
  • A strange visual glitch causes the paper doll to stand on the horses back, rather than ride on it.
    • It happens any time the weapon and shield is unequipped while the paper doll is riding on the horse.

Population in level 5 cities seems to reset to 670 when you load a game.

I haven't gotten that far yet with this version. I seem to take a very long time to grow my empires.

I still have yet to recreate this bug, I have only one Level 5 city so far however. Do you have any more information on it, so I can perhaps try to recreate it? Do you have a savegame I could download and try out to see if it is more a localized issue?

Simply hitting "End Turn" essentially caused a crash.

* I can't recreate it, the autosave does not reproduce this crash.

I mentioned in another post that I stumbled on a workaround. When end-of-turn crashes were happening to me, I started saving more often so I wouldn't lose as much progress. I've found that when I manually save (not autosave) every turn, I never get an end of turn crash. My guess is it's related to the autosaves.

This could be true, although it's only happened to me once thus far. I'm particularly pleased with how stable this version of the game is; Frogboy and his minions have outdone themselves. I'll definitely log any crashes that occur though. Two crashes after around 6 hours of gameplay is actually very good by my standards. (Mount & Blade: Warband's Brytenwalda mod, and Fallen Earth crash on average once per hour.)

Capturing enemy cities send my economy into a downward spiral.

In order to stop an aggressive AI player from attacking me - after they already made the threat.  I began to systematically take over his cities.

to my surprise each city I captured put my gilder and food into the red.  I would think that if the computer is operating these cities and somehow has a stronger army than me that they can afford that army.  Why would he have so many cities that are underfunded?

Same. I'm not experiencing much in the way of crashes at all.

That's usually why I meticulously destroy buildings in enemy cities that I don't need. Especially huts, which are typically what hurt my economy the most later down the line.

It is well known from the lore that Mancers are alergic to Certain types of leather on their feet. Trust me, the rash is not worth the extra move.

It's a pain though.

Here is another bug.

When casting teleport from your soveriegn while in a city he will walk to the destination instead of being teleported there.

When an enemy declares war on you, if you cast greater raise land in an armies path to your city the army will just stand at the base of the mountain instead of trying to find another path. If there is none perhaps it would be good to make the ai able to lower the mountain thereby allowing his armies to pass through.
