Silent Storm
Hello Everyone.
Has anyone here played Silent Storm? Great tactical squad based rpg game. Possibly one of the best ever released for pc. Anyway has anyone ever gotten it to work on a 64bit operating system without reducing your RAM down to under 3 gig.
You can do this but it is kinda annoying that you have to do this to play and then change it back and there is also the chance you may forget you left it at a lower amount of RAM and that could hurt playing other games.
This is how it is done.
Currently the best way to get around this error if you are running Vista or Windows 7 is do the following:
1. Click the start button and type "msconfig" in the run/search box.
2. Click on the "boot" tab.
3. Select the default boot setting (selected by default).
4. Click the "advanced options" button.
5. Check "maximum memory" and enter something below 4096. (3096 for example).
6. Click "ok" and click "ok" again.
7. Reboot your computer.
Please be aware this does affect your entire OS. When you are not playing Silent Storm go back and uncheck the "maximum memory" setting.
So my question is does anyone know of any way to get this game to work without doing that?
If you haven't played it yet go play it if you enjoy tactical games. It is great with fully destructable enviro's and is comes with modding tools to boot. Not sure why XCOM wasn't remade with this game engine.
