strange background stripe

strange background stripe

Hey,

I have a strange black stripe, appearing in the background, if there is any other application or dock above the undermost of the screen.

It appears when I move the cursor over the dock and goes from the top of the topmost application (e.g. my cd art display or rainmeter picture show) straight to the undermost dock. its nearly transparent and as thick as the whole dock, when moving the cursor over it.

If there is only one dock or no other app, the stripe doesnt appear.

what to do in that case?

thx for helping,

Thomas

edit: sorry for false posting.

using ObjectDock Plus 2.0

This anomaly is all over the place. I smell Logitech.....

That said, a few questions:

When did this start?

Any malware lately from net (notably pop ups)?

If you un-hide desktop icons is it still there and is there anything showing you can't identify? (your processes in TM look fine)

Malewware = no,

Last Scan on 30th of Oct.

I make a scan atm, its still running.

I do have a clear system as far as I (am able to) know...^^

unhided Desktop Icons = no change (but  i didnt rebot after unhiding, because of the scan)

and there is nothing on my Desktop or in the Task bar which that I ouldnt identify.

just found out:

When I turn off the Icon effects of OD or choose Glow or swing, the stripe doesnt appear...

it started when I started to use transparency settings of the other apps.

suddenly this stripe appeared.

it doesnt matter which app.

As you can see, it appears even without any other app.

Even when i select some transparency in OD setting it appears.

ALL other apps do NOT have any problems with each other, using transparency, only OD produces this stripe.

(When i move the dock to the bottom, the stripe dissapears...  dont know what happens if there are several docks at the bottom AND at one side)

In OD settings, do you have Aero Peek enabled?

Yes I had.

I unchecked it, switched to zoom effect, restarted OD but again, the stripe appears...

...and this happens in any dock background you use, correct?

quickly tested :

Emnince

rusty squary

vector cell black

Do you use any Logitech software/hardware?

- G 15 Keyboard

- Mx518 optical mouse

pls dont ask me to change to my 10 thousand year old replacement kit ^^

Try just one last thing, ok?

Remove the Logitech software and replace it with any other (non Logitech) mouse/keyboard. Microsoft might be best... Just give it a try. OK?

boah... you're so brutal lol

kk i'll try -.-

brb

Logitech quickcam, too, i guess?! -.-

I didnt know, that Logitech is that dominant at my home office^^

Changed to hp keyboard and labtech wireless mouse

Still I have to remove software.

Until now there is no change

After removing the software, reboot.

Finished with removing, rebooting.

Im sorry, but still the stripe appears.

:(

If so, you at least have your Logitech back... ;)

It really must be a software incompatibility issue with the transparency/nVidia drivers.

I wonder if Wizard1956 has Logitech stuff also...

Sorry I couldn't help you, Uncle Tom. If Yrag couldn't...well, you could still bring it up to Stardock Support... They'll certainly try to help you.

the stripe always appears on the apps and docks, on which the cursor is not over (ry fo rmy english, tis getting late^^)

other way round: i point on an icon on dock 1, the stripe appears on transparented dock 2 and three, on transparented rainmeter, rainlender and cd art display, no matter, if its in range of the dock, the stripe appears. if it is a dock on the bottom the stripe doesnt appear on the right or left side of the screen...

p.s. i want my mouse and keyboard back pls^^ -.-

I think you'll have to choose placement and which software to use with it.... I don't see a solution other than that. :(

Have a good sleep...you've earned it...

And you can have your board and mouse back. :)

first I have to thank you and Yrag for trying to help me that much!

You were really willing to solve that thing, thanks for that.

Youve exhausted me^^

But i think I will do it like Wizard did (and he has the same problems when having transparent items and OD on the same side of the screen, hasnt he), not to use more than one docklet on one side or leave the transparency at 100 %

We really did try several things, the whole weekend just for OD^^

Ehm I will send a mail to the support team with a link to this thread.

Maybe they can do anything more, but I I think make my peace with not having all my desktop objects transparent^^

I keep an eye on this thread.

Thanks so far.

lol ^^

thanks again. This will be the last action for tonight^^

If you have the docks as 'Always On Top' and you load a maximized window, does the stripe show?

yap.

always at the dock that has the transparent background.

When I move Rainlender or Rainmeter or Mini Lyrics there (with transparency on, too) the stripe appeares there, too.
