Thinking of buying the whole package (aka Object Desktop)

Hi, I'm currently thinking of buying this, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, sadly my screen isn't 1080 dpi.

 

Anyway, if I buy this program, will the license be... Forever? Or is it just for several years?

And hoping for some feedback from fellow Win 7 user as well, I'm wondering if the whole package is working on Win 7 or not... Thanks!

ObjectDesktop is a subscription to a suite of software that is valid for one year from the date of purchase. If you do not renew after the year (which is discounted), you will no longer get updates for you applications. While many of the applications in ObjectDesktop are Windows 7 compatible, not all of them are. I recommend checking the product page here:

You will find that most of what SD offers will work fine with Win7. I'm running the 64 bit version with:

DeskScapes

DesktopX

Icon Developer

Icon Packager

LogonStudio

SkinStudio 7 Pro (never used, lack of talent on my part;P )

Theme Manager

Tweak7

WindowBlinds

There are other apps that work but I don't have installed.

The value of buying all this as a package is obvious. You save big bucks! Plus Impulse makes it so easy to update or reinstall it all when needed, it's a no-brainer.

 

Also using but not part of ODNT: CursorFX Plus and OD Plus 2.0 which are also well worth trying out. Both have free and paid versions.

Okay, assuming that there won't be any updates exactly 1 year after I paid the subscription, will I still be able to use the program in full version?

Absolutely, plus you can archive them with Impulse and reinstall them any time, even after your sub has expired.

Absolutely, plus you can archive them with Impulse and reinstall them any time

If you wish to reinstall them you MUST archive them manually before your subscription runs out. Stardock will not provide you with access to reinstall the apps if it has expired and re-install from archive is your only option. You can continue to use them though.

Bottom line. Pay less than $1oo for all the bells and whistles or three times that for all the apps included separately. No-brainer like the Wiz said.

Sometimes you can get the individual parts on sale. I only paid $10 for Windowblinds 7 new.......

 

There is also a separate subscription one can buy for the site itself where you don't see ads, you get a 20% discount on master skins for Windowblinds part, etc, etc for $20 and renewed for $10 after a year. I got this one.
