Give Mission Bug

Minidump

Hi everyone!  I recently purchased Trinity and used it to update my older Sins game.  Since then, I have maintained its update status through Impulse.  It has the most recent versions of Sins and the expansion packs.  I absolutely love the game; it's one of my all-time favorites!

    However....

I have been playing Diplomacy without any hitches; it's running perfectly!  When I try to offer a mission to an AI though, the game freezes with a "ding" sound.  The cursor is visible, and I can move it around the screen, but in order to unfreeze my system I must close out to my desktop.  Hovering over it is one of those wonderfully irritating information boxes telling me that a minidump occurred.  A bunch of letters and numbers are also listed; I assume that it is a file location.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I searched through several pages of the forum, but failed to discover a remedy.  In the event that this problem has already been addressed, then please pardon a double-post.

Thanks, and have a great day!

Maybe your computer is too small...

And you are exceeding the 2Gb limit.

If not, I do not think that anyone has had this problem before...

The letters and numbers in the minidump are where the dump was saved. I do not think that you have the wherewithal to open it.

Were you running any mods?

If this happens again in the same manner, could you open up the game under the dev.exe and post what it says?

Well, oddly enough, it is no longer giving me the minidump problem.  It glitched four times in a row before I made my post.  I received your post and then tried to duplicate the error.  However, it allowed my to give a mission without any problem.  Perhaps it hinged on my progress through the scenario (I am much further along now than I was previously)...

I am not running any mods, but, if I have the trouble again, will try the dev.exe that you suggested.

Thank you for your quick reply, and have a great week!

If it happens again, please zip up the minidump file and send it to us at [email protected].

Hey, I'm having this same problem, and I was VERY surprised to see that there is still no solution to it since 2011.  Maybe a solution was simply not posted here, but in any event, is there a solution to this now?
