They had one of the best character creators, visually, I've seen to date if I remember yet. I can't believe that isn't worth something. It's not my style of game, but I was pretty impressed. There are, sadly, a number of non-MMO type games trying to cash in on the MMO paycheck that often end in failure. I've been a part of thet MMO community for years, and I remember reading about this game wondering what it was they were offering to justify that "extra". Evidently I was not alone and there wasn't enough.

I tend to agree Nesrie; APB was described to me as Grand Theft Auto IV's multiplayer component with better customisation.  It never really made much sense to me, and obviously it didn't make much sense to others.

The problem with MMOs, in my opinion, is that most pitches would contain "World of Warcraft" and "even if we only make X% of the revenue...".  APB, while trying something different, simply wasn't an MMO, and the subscription fee attached to the game killed it.  If they had of sold it like Counter-Strike, I think it would have done far, far better, and people would still be playing it today.  It seems companies just see the profit potential and kind of lose sight.
