I made an XP wall in about seven minutes flat, and some people thought it was a serious attempt! Is my art generally that bad?

and lets include a looooooong readme with all the history of the wallpaper, including a long version like "MyXPwall 1.2342bx" and lets flame anyone who rips our background gradient!!!! without mercy!!!!

For the life of me, does anyone else feel like they're out of touch with the general user? I can't figure out why people like these XP skins/wallpapers/themes so much.

It's even worse than the Aqua look.

You want to know what's really funny? Lots of people hate the new look who have the actual beta of Windows XP.

I never liked the new XP look... it's like a toy interface - way too cutsie for me. Like the rubber duckey thing in WinME...

the most irritating part is seeing all the walls with the windows logo - especially the walls that are Just the windows logo.

(And I use the term 'style' loosely. Even the "Whistler" look left a better taste in my mouth...)

I think you guys are being too sarcastic on this XP thing and this is not fair.

I made a search on the site and just could find 116 XP files ( once again, I said ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN XP files), with accountables updates.

Not that much huh?
For sure I believe there is room to feet a couple of dozen more.

There are some sections that I couldn't find one single XP skin, *almost crying* CoolPlayer, ColorPad, KewlPad and LiteStep.

So what are you XP skinners are waiting for? Go for it and be wellcome to the hall of fame!

Hmm, while we're at it, we need an XP site skin as well. Now, we shouldn't be putting the average Joe who likes XP down like this. It's just a case of the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. They just want XP to look fresh and'll probably drop it when it actually comes out.

Now real skinning is just a step too far for these folks.

Renato, I already did a transparent LiteSTEP XP theme. The trouble is, being transparent, you can't see the shortcuts or the popups, and therefore they can't be clicked on, either. The result is.....it looks exactly like an XP wall. How's THAT for porting an OS!!!!...

Elwin...I have a virus checker that decided it didn't like the installer file for Sonique and downloaded it to 'delete', not to 'recycle'...was damn annoying. Even disabling the checker and then downloading it didn't help..as soon as I re-enabled, the checker deleted the file... so I don't use Sonique any more...

I wonder what it thinks of all things 'XP'....
