The interface is much better than Hotmail or Yahoomail. There are no graphics to download (except for the google logo) which makes it MUCH faster. You don't have to load a new page to reply to messages and you can see your messages by "conversations" (replies and answers) and you can easily search through your mail with google.

It's just more convenient than the others...

How do yu get a Gmail Invite in the first place
