How to get Impulse to quit starting up at PC start

Just like the title says. I've disallowed Impulse to start up when I boot my PC through msconfig, and yet every time I launch Impulse it re-enables itself to launch at start up. It's really pissing me off. That puts it in the same bracket as Quick time, Adobe, and the most obnoxious anti-viral programs, which seem to like ignoring what the user tells them to do because the company wants them "visible."

I don't need Impulse running at start up, nor would I ever. Is there a way to disable this, or am I going to have to get creative and start treating Impulse like Malware?

Why don't you just disable it through Impulse? It's in the preferences menu.

This is how I handled mine and it does not start unless I manually launch it its the way to go...

That would be too easy. ;)

I could have sworn I did that, I always do as with Steam and whatever. When I went to the options, it was already disabled. It hasn't been re-enabled in msconfig since, so my bad. I'll cop to the attitude.

We have all been where you were at one point or another.  Then when we find that the solution to the problem was rather easy, we generally all clear our throats and say thank you.  :sun:

I had a similar problem with the Impulse Dock - I'd tell it to not launch on startup, only to have it show up with every reboot.  Turns out it was due to a corrupted user profile and Windows wasn't properly writing the 'on-next-boot' instructions.  Explorer.exe was also constantly using 15-20% of the CPU cycles & keeping the fan in business.  Created a new profile, imported my old settings and both problems were gone.

From what I've gathered, user profile corruption is not all that uncommon.  May not apply to you but worth considering.
