Im watching gameplay videos and its making things worse! Nothing to complain about though, the game is launched a day early and im pretty sure they dont have huge resources like bigger game companies do. Just sit tight and be content that we are all putting our money in a company that gives a shit about where games are headed next. Its not like some other big game companies where the investors just want to turn out maximal profits and they could just as well be importing bananas. <3 Stardock!

And when, exactly, does the expectation become reasonable?  When the CEO of Stardock himself posts in these very forums saying that the game will be available on the morning of the 22nd for beta testers and midday for preorders, is it unreasonable to expect that the game will, in fact, be available on the morning of the 22nd for beta testers and midday for preorders?

Now either something has gone wrong, or Brad's estimate was unrealistically optimistic, but at this point you really can't say that people's expectations are unreasonable.

Well this is somewhat disappointing. After the problems with impulse (i.e account basically suggesting v1.0 was available to download but then getting message about problems with registration and serial number) to this - not good really. OK I was and am more than happy to wait until the 24th.  But if you through your actions and statements change your customers expectations, well you better deliver on that or those customers will feel somewhat disappointed to aggrieved depending on their personal dispositions.

Stardock has a deserved reputation for customer service and outstanding relationships with its community of gamers. However, it does become a concern when you also see companies overreach on that somewhat and perhaps start taking that relationship for granted on the condition that 'they will understand'. I accept good, open and transparent communication with your customers can mean getting it wrong from time to time. But missing dates and indeed times that you committed your company to - well that isn't great. Just don't make the commitment and raise expectations if there is a possibility of missing those deadlines (that you've set for yourself). Just leave it at the 24th and then if you managed to release earlier (but no public commitment on that) might have been smarter.

All that said I patiently look forward to the release and seeing how Stardock develop and refine this quality design over the coming months.

Its 15 min past ghost hour here, I got a heck of an cold and that and tiredness probably is what's making my head spin and I haven't got any confirmation that my preorder is ok. Going to bed now and is hoping that everything will be smelling of roses when I wake up tomorrow

ha ha i love this thread, really gives you some insight to the nature of humans.  i think some psychology researchers should do an experiment with this.  make a website about a new and amazing game that everybody is dying to play and keep on delaying it, but at the same time keep people right on the edge like its about to release at any time.  catalog all the different personalty types.
