How do I download the beta?

Only preorders from Stardock get beta access, which also closed yesterday around mid-day. So, you won't be able to play it now until launch in a couple of weeks. Sorry!

Which is rather sad since I could read that nowwhere when I did the pre-order some hours ago - mainly because I wanted to play the beta right away.

Now I have not even received confirmation from Stardock for my pre-order and the reply from my email send to [email protected] is just an mailbot - well I guess the pre-order will likely get cancelled real soon and the transaction stopped.

Then if the game seems to be a blast I can allways buy the regular version instead of the limited edition I pre-ordered.

You get an automated reply that they got your email. They should reply to you hopefully today - their work day is just starting, and "some hours ago" was the middle of the night

Got my reply from sales department. They told me beta would eventually reopen no they did not drop hints about when.

Then they asked me to find my invoice in my junk mail. Guess I could have told them in original mail that I had checked junk mail prior to sending mail to stardock.

Holliday ending next week and little or no time for games for a looong while => canceling of pre-order

The beta isn't a demo. It's a beta. i.e. an unfinished game is a lot like trying to eat an unfinished pie. Not fun.

Heh I really likes pies - even the unfinished ones though mind you not those that have been burned to charcoal

For the record Stardock sales department finally maneged to send me confirmation for my pre-order via email

The game itself comes out in three weeks, though it should be massively improved over time, as the GalCiv games were.

Then again, I'd say right now EWOM beta is about as polished as the recent Total War games.

And first I could not make an impulse account when I wanted to pre-order. Send an email to support Juli 29th 3:21 Eastern time. They send me another url than the standard but not before beta was closed. I've been soo close.
