move onto  hut and menu displays "do you want to attack spiders".. Upon Killing the spiders a "pickup" menu is diplayed with Azurs Armor as the item, clicked yes and crash OR another Azur Armor "attack options" menu is displayed with no options and the game cant continue.

I also experienced a crash to desktop after the tactical battle involving the same set of magical armor guarded by spiders.

LOG: Entered ruin;armor dialogue appeared; choose to fight; tactical battle started with spiders, left-clicked on the crown button to the left of the Interface, the pop-up tip for this button was "auto-resolve battle". I thought I would die so I clicked on the button to get it over with. Tactical battle ended and message popped up that said "tactical spells can only be cast in tactical area". Then the armor message popped up saying I had found the armor, then the main unit died message popped up, then it crashed to desktop.

I had this happen twice during a game at different location, however I found the quest at a third location and it worked as I imagine it was intended to.

I got the spiders, won the fight, it showed me the armor then CTDed.

Ditto. I noticed that if I elect the auto-resolve option, it doesn't crash.

I've had this happen to me three times in two different games, I've always done the tactical battle with this encounter.

I've had this CTD at least three times.  I've never gotten the armor successfully.

@John_Hughes   Yes, every time I have actually finished an entire game, I also experience the intro-movie, which comes right before the screen indicating Victory.

Same thing happened to me three times today. Tried the dungeon in different parties, different levels etc, but no change.

CTD as well for me.  Will continue trying in different locations and see what happens.
