WB Taskbar problem

I'm working on my first WB skin and I've read thru 3 different tutorials. I still can not get the area of my taskbar to skin where the current tasks are shown. I use a double row horiz taskbar with qlaunch and other toolbar shortcuts on top and then all current tasks on the bottom. Both ends of the bottom skin but not the area between where the "tasks" show. It's probably something real basic but I can't get past this one item. Any help would be appreciated.
