Quoting Frogboy, reply 70I should mention that since this video was taken that the min distance between cities allowed was doubled to 10 tiles.

I have to admit, that even after seeing your responsiveness over the years on several games, it still amazes me.

As a software developer though, I have to say that it must be painful for some of your employees to see you sift through the forums and then schedule a 'design meeting"   -  "Oh no!!!!!  Brad is coming with more ideas from those stinking forumites - Can someone please crash the forum!!!!!!"

As a consumer, I love your attitude and responsiveness.   I'll continue to support Stardock as much as I can because of it.

This. To be honest, it has earned the company one unquestioning purchase from me, when it comes to new games. I wouldn't have considered buying a game such as this otherwise. My rationalization for saying that is that stardock can uphold such a high level of quality and communication. But I would be lying if I told you there wasn't a tiny bit of love involved as well.

Quoting psychoravin, reply 56I'm not fearing city spam so much now as I am fearing city GLUT (spreading out so far all the cities are touching one another or nearly.) What's the use of pioneers when all you need to do is expand your borders?

Pioneers probably become obsolete now. Except for founding cities, of course.

That's all Pioneers do now too. Found cities.

Well I personally like the change and have no problem with city spam or how close they are to each other (never understood why some people don't like this) However I would like to see Forts/Watchtowers etc added to the game for expaning territory and to kkep general watch on the land without having to build a city. You can have the pioneer build these.  Could also give bonuses depending on the structure being built.....Forts would have more area control and give higher defensive binuses to station troop than Watch Towers. Watch towers can be cheaper to build than forts and can see more of the surrounding area than forts etc.

You could also allow watchtowers to be upgraded to forts and forts to cities for a fee.

Personally I'm a bit worried by this change.  If players are entirely dependent upon random map placement for production.  That will force players to adapt entirely to the random map.  When things were sort of half and half... you could adapt to the map somewhat but also focus heavily on some sort of plan you like?  It seems like now which city upgrades you build are just strictly pre-determined by what resources the map randomly places near you!  Whereas before you might have to make meaningful choices between which resources to focus on... now you simply have to focus on whichever resources randomly happen to be near that city?
