Thank you so much for my promotion. It was completely unexpected and has taken me aback. I'm delighted and honoured by this.  And may I just say well done to the other promotees too!!!

Been here for six..everyday.. but who's counting? Instead of uploading one quality piece every month, I should flood the gallery with every test render, play time screwing around piece?

Promotions don't go to an 'old-boys club', in fact each month you'll see names that are quite new on the list.

It's all about 'presence'...not 'in-your-face' presence...but 'noteworthy' ....:)

I thought you said noseworthy and thought...well gee,that excludes Fred then.

Isn't this thread about congratulating the promotees? You don't like the way things are run, complain to the admins via PM. It's disrespectful to those promoted to carry on like this here.

I think Lantec was just trying to make a point here. The moderators will decide who will get a promotion based on a decision that is primarily their own. In other words, they don't want to start a trend in which everyone suggests people to be promoted because, well, that would just get annoying. Suggesting that someone should get promoted may not necessarily hurt their odds, but it will certainly not improve them. The point is, just relax and enjoy yourself on this site.......you will get promoted when the moderators decide you've proven yourself deserving.

Agree 1000%.

There's a time and a place to raise concerns and this post is one to congratulate those that were promoted and not to air misguided grievances.

k10w3 - If you have a problem with the way WC admins and moderators handle the promotions then please PM or email Jafo or Island_Dog.

Ya know, long before I made MOD, while I was a JM, I used to nominate people for promotion via a PM/email/ or IRC to  a MOD all the time.  And you know what, 99% got promoted.

Again, Congrats to all the newly promoted.

Why can't we just be a big happy family like we used to be. All the drama is running people off and I hate seeing people leave over silliness.

Actually...

I have the MotoGP coming up at Phillip Island soon.....and the common phrase there is ..."ride it like you stole it"...;)

 It would be so nice to be able to congratulate members on their promotions on their personal sites. Not to beat a dead horse here but we subscribers really need our guestbooks back. (or at least this one does) The "notes " function added to the profile page is a non-feature in my opinion that serves no real purpose if I am the only one that can read them.

Many promotees don't spend much, if any time in the WC forums and may not even see they have been promoted for quite some time. The guestbook was one way to say thanks to them for enriching the site.

Ok, that's my off-topic two cents worth.
