(solved) Option to disable/override camera auto-follow

Currently, when you click to move a character, the camera automatically re-centers on the character and follows him until he stops moving.  This makes managing multiple characters/cities painful because it's natural to switch from char1->city->char2 as soon as char1 starts moving.

Even worse, edge scrolling is disabled until the camera is finished auto-following.  You can't even pan over to the next city/char that you plan to work on until the selected character finishes moving, unless you click elsewhere to de-select, then edge scroll.  It shouldn't be necessary to manually de-select just to disable unwanted camera auto-follow.

Suggestions:

  • Allow edge scrolling while the selected character is moving.  If I'm edge scrolling, camera auto-follow isn't necessary or wanted.
  • Add an option to disable camera auto-follow.

Add an option to disable camera auto-follow.

Have you tried deselecting this option?:

Auto-follow

I think, in Beta 2 (Pre-A), I deselected it and got the same behavior you said you are looking for.

That was it.  Thanks!  I thought that option was for something else.

No problem, I know how it feels when simple options in the interface provide a better experience... Now if only they improve the edge scrolling, and implement unit auto-cycling...
