[.802][Bug/Graphics] Colors "washed out"

The colors of the main map are washed out. If I zoom out to the cloth map though, everything's fine and bright.

In full screen mode only, the character portraits are also washed out.

It also happens in places like the item shop:

For now, try turning off advanced lighting.

This happens every other time I start the game. Examples:

Game looks blurry, restart, looks fine.
Game looks fine, restart, looks blurry.

Graphics settings have nothing to do with it for me.

Same for me. At the first start of the game everythings fine. If I start a new game everything is blurry. Save Game -> Load game everything is fine most of the time. Deactivating Advanced Lighting fixes this.

I'm having the exact same problem too. As Zamul mentions, it seems to alternate from bad to good on game start.  (For what it's worth, I'm loading an autosaved game)

Oddly enough, if I turn off advanced lighting, by dropping the slider to zero, the graphics get worse!  Here's an example:

Yeah you don't want to touch the slider, you need to uncheck "Advanced Lighting" at the bottom center. I was getting the same problem - blurry graphics normally, black screen if I take the slider down, but it's fine if I just uncheck the advanced lighting box at the bottom.

Also, looking at your screenshot makes me think:

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

You're exactly right.  Unclicking that box did clear things up.  Thanks!
