Can interface colors be modified? I want to fade the grid on the galaxy screen, and brighten the trade-routes, asteroid resource paths, ship paths, yadda yadda.
Only the actual UI elements (screens and panels and such) can be changed since those are in the dxpacks. Things drawn in on the main map like the grid and paths are not exposed such that they could be modded.
Not totally true. The icon overlays on the tactical map can be modified, as can ships and planet/star textures. You can even replace the asteroids and anomalies if you know a few things about modeling. However, paths, routes, grids, and that sort of thing are hard-coded in.
