If I purchase Blood Bowl through Impulse, but most of my friends have it through Steam, will I encounter any problem playing with them in MP games? Does BB have its own online client?

I beleive it runs on it's own servers, so steam or impulse should make no difference.
Found a copy (brand new) on amazon for $7.
