WB7 update compatability issues with Corel Paint Shop Pro

Not sure its a bug mate,paintshop pro x is not compatable with windows 7.You may need to upgrade to x2 that i have or the the new x3.like you i would be lost without it.x2 works on windows 7 64 bit that i have.

I have Windows 7, 32 bit.  I have Paint Shop Pro 8 and Paint Shop Pro X2 and they both work on my machine just fine.  I use version 8 most of the time for skinning, because that is what I have had for years.  I got X2 for Christmas and am still figuring out how to use it...it is very different from version 8.  I have WB7 version 7.01, build 247.  Was the update you downloaded a beta version?  I do not install ANY beta versions of any software because more times than not, they create problems. 

I have Win7, 64 bit with PSP7, PSPX and CS4 which are all running with no problems. *edit* my PSPX version 10.10

I have automatic updates from Impulse TURNED OFF. (lessons learned)

in the future you might think about using a restore point rather than uninstalling then reinstalling programs. Seems to be a much easier and more safe method to remove recently added errors.

there are four uploads from corel to modify the original program to make it compatable with vista/win7 and it works.

PSP8 was before Corel bought out Jasc and is probably a much more stable piece of software than the newer versions.  Truthfully, this was the first problem I have had running PSP X on Win 7.  Thanks to gmc2, I am back in business.

This is the reason I've not used my Win 7 disc that they sent me when I bought this Vista machine. I've heard over and over that PSP 8 won't work with Win 7 64 bit. And I wonder about Animation Shop, too.

So, should I go ahead with the upgrade, or just run my Vista restore disc to fix the inevitable glitches?

with the many updates since the original post my pspX has stopped working with win7. my psp7 is still operable and functioning just fine and is my program of choice. I do keep pspx installed as it provides the file recognition for the psp files to show as thumbs, otherwise they come as default icons.

not sure about psp8 but as a suggestion; install it on a friends machine that has win7 and see what the results are. if it works update your machine to win7. if not...

Animation Shop with PSP 8, works just fine on my Windows 7 desktop...but, I have the 32 bit version.  However, I just recently got a new laptop and it is Windows 7, 64 bit.  And PSP 8 works absolutely fine on it, as well as Animations Shop!  I would say ditch Vista, and install Windows 7...it is a much better OS!

PSP6 works just fine too.

There's very little in the way of proggies that WON'T work in Win 7....;)
