@Publius of NV Where do you find the dump file? I am still having out of memory errors too (https://forums.elementalgame.com/381778).

"For crash reports in particular, the most helpful file you can provide is a memory dump that the game will generate when a crash occurs. If you're running Windows XP, there will be a zip file with the memory dump located in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic. If you're running Windows Vista or 7, the zip file will be located at ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic instead."
I downloaded today's update to 0.32, started a new game, and still hit the out of memory, this time on turn 170. From the debug.err:

See OP for dxdiag.
I hit the same out of memory error when I pressed the End Turn button. The dump file was size 0 for some reason. But I've included the debug and dxdiag files anyway. Not sure if it matters but the turn before I got housing tech so all the houses should of been upgraded that turn.

When I've hit this error the .zip file for the dump is 0 bytes, but there's a .dmp file with the same name in the same directory that is the actual dump before it got zipped. So I've just been erasing the .zip, zipping the .dmp, and putting that in dropbox.
After hitting the problem after updating to tonight's version, I uninstalled, erased all the files in both Elemental directories, and did a clean install. Started a new game, and this time I hit the problem on turn 280.

It looks like that these OOM errors are hardware related as well, because 1Z4 is absolutely stable on my comp&OS, and only a few people are having these oom problems. Weird...but again I don't know anything about hardware&software errors with regard to game developing. ![]()
Out of memory to me, too.

The dump-file is empty and not zipped.
Hit it again. This time I had just placed a market in a level 5 town, but the graphic for the market, when placed, came up as a black square. I was in the mode where you're zoomed in on the city when placing buildings, and when I clicked "done" and it automatically zoomed out the Out of memory window came up. Then a second or two later another OoM window popped up over the first one.

dxdiag is in the OP.

There was a zero byte .zip file where the dump should have been (which I've seen before), and a zero byte .dmp file with the same name. Perhaps the second OoM window happened when Elemental was trying to create the .dmp file.
This time I hit it on turn 95, and got three (count em, three!) OoM windows:

Once again, a zero length .dmp file was created.
Got the same problem while trying to save the game:

dxdiag: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6449852/DxDiag.txt
For some reason I got three dump files (and three out of memory messages), but two were 0 kb:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6449852/Elemental0_32-2010-05-09T10-11-20-619.dmp
Got a similar problem: crash upon turn 59, out of video memory. Got a 0Kb dump unfortunately, so no memory dump this time...
