I would love to see Warcraft 4 with the UI of warcraft 3(well simular like SC2 has a simular UI) i mean Blizzard made Warcraft 1,2 and 3 with TFT then BAM! f***ing wow came and now all they see in warcraft is wow i would LOVE to see the RTS return A LOT of WC3 fans would love that too the game is STILL popular people STILL play it.and since stardock owns and blizzard is starting to become ea(basically s**t)  the warcraft RTS/RPG is doomed and it had so much potential makes me cry how it died so...Stardock can you ask Blizzard at least if they are planing on Warcraft 4?if not buy the rights f**k blizzards then...ill buy 3 more "Elemental War Of Magic" if you ask that will make 8 xD well i got LOTS of cash and since no new games are coming out i guess ill just buy lots of Elemental i literally got around 80 thousand spare Euros for buying games @.@ no good games i like came out recentaly only C&C4 but as expected of ea it...sucked  :"( well stardock about the beta 1z3 keep polishing tha game i bet in the end you wont need patches :D you guys made some of the best games i have like GalCiv 1 and 2 is GalCiv 3 gonna be made in 2011?never liked TBS you guys changed my views on TBS now i LOVE it

I think it's more likely that Blizzard will buy the rights for Elemental ;P  (and turn it into an MMO)

Unlikely, as I highly doubt Stardock will sell the Elemental rights.

Or maybe, they will combine WOW with the Warcraft RTS ... and have WOW players able to invade RTS games at any time (other than campaign) as individual units.

And then, if your character dies in the RTS world, its permanently trapped until the RTS player says different. Usually this will require allowing the RTS player to use your character as a unit in his game.

Then you will be free to continue playing that character in MMOs and he can use your unit in his RTS games. The one caveat, however, is that if you re-enter an RTS game where he is playing, if you attack one of his units you automatically die again. You can pay him with your WOW gold, which is converted to RTS resources to the player (which may be a reason to let you be able to return to WOW). If you don't have any WOW gold, however, you can either become his unit in the game, acting independently not requiring food, and fighting against the other units from a 1st player perspective ... or you can lose that character forever and create a new WOW character.

You know? That's so insane I'd actually play that.

Or going by how Activision Blizzard has been operating lately, you get stuck until you agree to pay the company $30 in real money to get your character back into WoW.

"As an evil (dangerously evil) greedy capitalist ..."

(Brad answers phone) Hello. Well, Mike Morhaime! What a pleasant surprise! Great to hear from you bud! What's going on?

... you want to what? ... no pal, no way. We've put a lot of work into Elemental. It's our baby! Our dear child! And no way we would consider ... (thud) ... (Brad picks himself up off the floor) ... uh, how $$$much$$$ did you say? Deal, man! Send the papers right over!

Well ... ya know they could sell the MMO trademark rights w/o selling the TBS or RTS (or anything else for that matter) trademark rights....

Although it is unlikely that a company would willingly buy only the MMO rights if they know the company that sold it could make another game which might draw from their MMO crowd ...

But then again, an MMO is a completely different type of product than TBS/RTS/Book ... so it would be perfectly acceptable to have the True Canon (Stardock's Elemental and subsequent releases based in the Lore)

and the Blizzard spinoff Canon (For their new MMO...)

So yea, I'd be willing to sell *part* of the Elemental franchise (if only the MMO part) if I was Frogboy ... however never the TBS cause that just isn't Blizzard's realm of expertise ... and I wouldn't want them to sully Elemental's good name.

mark my words

starcraft 2i, cataclysm, starcraft 2ii, diablo 3, starcraft 2iii, unannounced wow exp, diablo 3 exp, starcraft 2 exp, unannounced new ip mmo, warcraft 4 eta summer 2015

On a different note, a question: in the drunk Russian party world where Blizzard might actually go along with that idea, what do you think Blizzard might charge for a one off license to make a Warcraft game?

Blizzard would *never* sell the rights to Warcraft.  They only own a few IPs, they're all their own, and they're all wildly popular.  As JaJ said, the going rate for the license would be more than all the money in the world, most likely.  Just look at how much revenue it's capable of producing.

I thought I saw a Blizzard quote that Diablo 3 would come out before Starcraft 2ii, I could be wrong but I hope not.

Starcraft 2 is coming out in July. Diablo 3 doesn't appear to have reached a public beta stage yet.
