I agree with you that there is a small bias towards online multiplayer at this forum, which makes sense and is probably typical of all games.  If I had to guess, I would say that the vast majority of Sins purchasers do not know these forums exist and that many of them are probably still playing v1.00 or v1.05.  I also agree that if you don't have any sort of competitive spirit, ICO probably isn't for you.  Online multiplayer gaming isn't for everybody.  However, it is possible to find games with newer players if you load up vanilla Sins and prod some of the people to try a team game with other new players.
