GalCivII Twilight Of The Arnor

Can someone please tell me what techs you have to research to start building the Defender ship please?  I am playing as Custom race and using the Terran Research tree and ships, but I cannot seem to find out what techs are needed to build defenders.

IIRC, because each race has its own tech tree, there are no "pre-packaged" ships anymore, but you can have the computer design ships for you with a proportion of lasers, mass drivers, and missiles as well as their respective defences if you don't want to delve into the ship builder.

Thanks, I only asked as in the Campaigns the Defenders get built when you have searched the correct tech.
