Sins of a Solar Empire v1.191 | Entrenchment v1.051 | Diplomacy/Trinity v1.011 Change Log

Now that's a header!

Later today Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment are planning to release the latest updates for Sins of a Solar Empire, Sins of a Solar Empire - Entrenchment and Sins of a Solar Empire - Diplomacy/Trinity.  This is a small update, but resolves a long-standing desync/crash issue that's been causing pain to players.

As always, check your Impulse client for the update.

NOTE: This update may invalidate your save games

All:

+ This update fixes the most common desync and crash bug in each of the Sins games. Resolving this issue was a long time coming due to how difficult it was to track down, so we want to give special thanks to the following players for all their help -

  • Warren Tabada
  • Jordan Rideout
  • Kyle Leppert
  • Landon DePasquale
  • Frank Galati
  • Ben Horsley
  • Quarantine
  • Tristan Halverson

Sins of a Solar Empire - Diplomacy/Trinity:

Interface -

+ Trinity clients will now properly be labled on the main menu.
+ Play Entrenchment and Play Sins buttons now function properly and exist in the main menu.

Misc. -

+ Fixed a bug where certain treaties would break if the relationship between two players were negative and they were humans.

No the expansions are not in the wincustomize mod section.  Those are reference files to help modders out.  You have to buy the expansions from the impulse website that wincustomize links to at the bottom of the shop page.  When you buy each of the expansions you'll get an email telling you how to activate them on your impulse program that you used to update sins to not only download, but also install the expansions.

assuming you are refering to the myfist0 sourced REFERENCE files, they are TEXTED copies of the entity files AND DO NOT include the NEEDED exe's dll's etc. the myfist0 files are a MODDERs resource for people that want to make their own mods and ARE NOT complete copies of the expansions, also I have uploaded copies of the TEXTED reference files for sins 1.191, entrenchment 1.051 & diplomacy 1.011 and there IS NO WAY that any person can convert the reference files into the full expansion due to the MISSING exe's, dll's etc because in my own ones I particularly DELETED ALL movies, sounds exe's dll's ocx's appdata, font etc, just leaving the entity, manifest, mesh, brushes, galaxy, particle, str, window, brushanimations, constants, gameeventdata, sounddata and manifest files.

edit thanks stant you beat me to it, but I was doublechecking which files & folders were in them

Start your game and on the main menu, click update.  Your game will exit, impulse will start.  Impulse will update itself and restart if you haven't used it in a while.  Click on 'My Games' and it'll show you your copy of Sins and tell you if there is an update available.  From there, just click update and impulse will do all of the work.

The damm patch download on Impulse is not working properly. It stops downloading at 95% and then after another 10 min tells me there is an unknown error. Please can somebody sort this out urgently? I want to start playing my new game!

lucasfer, the best advice is to email [email protected] with all system details and specifications eg windows version & whether x86 OR 64 bit , internet connection type and speed, cpu, amount of ram, amount of free disc space on your primary hdd, antivirus & firewall and ASK for help.

You need to install and register your game with the impulse program. After that, you will be able to patch or even digitally download the game as many times as you need.

why is this shit so complicated. I just bought Sins Trinity at Target last night, installed it and its v1.182 and I have a Star Trek Mod for v1.191, where do I find the patch to update my Sins from v1.182 to v1.191

You have to use the impulse program, it will install the patch for you. Stardock prides itself on good patch support but it wants to ensure only paying customers can get access to them. It is the only form of DRM the game has (you don't even need the disk in your computer), and its only complicated the first time.

You can even use the computer that has the internet (seems how you downloaded a mod I figure you have one computer to do so) and then transfer the full game, updated and all, to the computer that doesn't have internet.
