What's Chasing the Vasari

I think I know.

So, the Lore never tells us, but I think I know what's chasing the Vasari.

For those of you who bought Sins at the store, take a look at the back of the box. It says at the top:

"Assume ultimate control over one of three galactic powers: an ancient alien civilization running from a terror of their own creation, a loose coalition of traders forced to annex their own people or an exiled empire of powerful psionics bent on revenge. Will you lead them to salvation or condemn them to extinction? The choice is yours..."

Notice: "an ancient alien civilization running from a terror of their own creation"

The ancient alien civilization is of course the Vasari. A terror of their own creation? Well, thinking about what the Vasari excel at; phase space and nanorobotics. I think that most likely what they are running from is a nanobot problem. Search "Gray Goo" on Wikipedia and you'll get a bit of an idea of why it would be so terrifying.

What do you guys think?

This grey goo idea is relevent but untrue

the real thing they are running from is Chuck Norris (see thread)

It has been tossed up before. Its really up to the devs to tell us...Hell it could be space ponies

Ever see "The Mist"?  That's what happens when you mess with phase space.  They opened the door to Cthulhu's realm.  It's all over for them now.

Stargate SG-1's Replicators all over again, eh?  Or, maybe they created some ungodly biological entity ala the Homeworld series?  I know the latter is one of the inspirations for the Advent.

Well, better Azathoth's realm. Cthulhu is on Earth. Ia! Ia! ;P

What inspiration?

Homeworld as an inspiration for the Advent: the ships, the desert homeworlds, the manifest dominion artifact, etc.

Negatory, Houston!  All good guesses but they are running from:

The Diplomacy Pirates.

Space ponies. Without a doubt.

Diplomacy space pirates. And soon, TEC and Advent will be on the run as well.

What if it's diplomacy pirates riding space ponies?  *shiver*

We are doomed, I tell you... doomed, doomed, and the outlook is not good!

You know, it would be quite devious if the Developers gae a new buff to Space Ponies in Diplomacy.  Maybe something completely broken like "Grants Pirate Armor to all ships."

At the various space port taverns and bars, the word is that they are running from small blue creatures.

These small blue creatures sing and dance and do both work and play at the same time. There has only been one female seen with them at any one time, but she is not the queen or leader.

The leader of the small blue creatures wears a white (or silver) crown on his chin as all these small blue creatures have hats, some pointed like a cone.

Some say the small blue creature's leaders name is papasmurf.

Haha, funny, but still not quite it. The Devs have actually alreay confirmed what is chasing the Vasari, and it is much more terrifying!

It maybe old, but still great.

The Vasari could have opened up a multi-demensional phase space tunnel releasing their Anti-matter Vasari Bretheren bent on destroying them. Matter and Anti-Matter don't mix well <X3
