We play online, wanna join?

That's right, there really are people out there playing Sins online! ;)

We've got a group of 4 that regularly play Diplomacy/Entrenchment during the week, really late night EST. (around 1-3am) Currently, we're trying to get some Saturday afternoon games going since there are generally more people online around that time and I wanted to hit the forums and see if anyone might want to play some friendly games. Probably mostly 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 type stuff but we're also interested in FFA diplomacy games and whatever else anyone might wanna try. Oh, and almost forgot! We play everything at Normal Speed, we don't have time for Slow and if I want Fast then I'll go play Dawn of War II. ;P

We're not online pros by any means but we've got a firm grasp of the game and are really eager to get some more pvp experience.

We hang out on our Ventrilo server and just generally try to have a good time.  If you might be interested then just drop a line in this thread and we can set something up.

Do you guys know about Ironclad Online (ICO)?  It isn't necessary for people to have to schedule game times or wait until their friends are available.  Instead you can play against other people (or play comp stomps against the AI) anytime on ICO without having to wait for friends or to adhere to a schedule.  (Nothing wrong with playing with your friends, I'm just saying that no one should feel limited to that.)  Just click the <Ironclad Online> button register your CD-key, create a player name, <use player> that name, and you're good to go.  You can also find larger games online, such as 5v5.

So, consider yourselves as having been cordially invited to join the Sins online multiplayer community.  If you guys have Diplomacy, now is a great time to come online because there are a number of newer players around.

Thanks for the info!

Although, we've been playing on ICO for quite some time. :) It's just difficult to find people that actually wanna jump into a random team game with Normal speeds and such.

The purpose of my post is to find people that not only wanna play Sins matches but actually want to do it on a regular basis, with us, all the while having friendly banter on Vent or in-game. Establishing relationships... isn't that what life is all about? ;)

Myself and another fiend play a few days during the week about the same time as you (11:00pm - 5:00am US Central time).  We play on ICO and have a tough time getting people to playwith us.  We want to play the same type of games as you do 2v2,3v3,or FFA.  We ont like playing fast games, normal is our speed too.  I you would like to join up or some games let me know.  We are no pros either.  We have ony been playing a couple months but are familiar with the game and find computers to be boring and predictable.  the human elliment of surprise is what we are craving now.  My ICO name I go by is McJaggor.

I would like to have a regular crew to pay with.

I may, how long are the matches usually?

There is something wrong, when I try to create a accuont it say's "Disconnected from server". Please help.

You should post in the technical discussion forum.  Do you have the latest patches?  Do you have any mods enabled?

Hey,

I'd be up for joining you guys, I've played just enough games to know what I'm doing but not enough to do it well.

You can reach me via PM or at "[email protected]"

Is that Vladimir Lenin as your avatar, or some Swiss dude?  Am I correct in guessing that you live in Switzerland?

That is the Swiss national hero Lasers Von Xbox, and yes I am from Switzerland, you can tell because my profile says "Location: Canada".

make ur speeds faster and more will join...games take long enough as it is and normal speeds take even longer. longer game = less ppl willing to play...

I actually prefer normal game speed.

CallenExile is my ICO name.  I'm not on much and am not that good at online play (Mostly cuz the games are all on fast speed...But I'll play if you want.)

never seen u online...but if id join ur game and saw it was on normal speeds i would not play lol (not unlike many others)...cause like i said games take long enough already no reason to make them take longer...

some advice...go to single player against easy ais in a large random map (faster speeds, quick start) and just practice your start (colonize fast and build LOTS of ships) untill u get fast at colonizing and making large fleet. then mp will go much better ;)

IDK about the OP, but I play on normal because I prefer a relaxed rate of play where you don't HAVE to be constantly clicking on something to stay in the game.  Make it too fast and it takes all the fun out of it for me.

Don't know if this thread is still alive...but anyway...I LOVE team based games on MP and prefer normal speed...I have lots of experience with all three factions so if you're trying to set up certain compositions I can be flexible....I can't promise I can play a lot at those times, but if you send me something whenever you are thinking about playing, I'll see what I can do...

ICO name is Seleuceia...send me a message on these forums if you want an e-mail address..

Seleucia, are you on Vanilla Sins, Entrenchment, or Diplomacy?  Most of the humans v. humans action is on Diplomacy between the hours of 7 pm - Midnight U.S. Eastern Time.  (However, most people are playing with the Fast or Faster speed settings now.  Faster speed can be a trip if you're not used to it.)

I have Diplomacy...I don't have much experience with fast or faster, but my time management is decent so I could probably get used to it quick...the only issue would be my lack of perspective ex: I've been playing for 15 minutes, how many planets should I have by now?

Yeah, that's where it gets tricky.  Adjusting to a different speed can throw your sense of adequacy off.  The nice thing about the faster speeds is that it does shave time off how long it takes to play a game.

If you guys are willing to play on fast/faster, hit me up. _Milo_ on ICO.

I'm interested, I'm going to be purchasing Diplomacy in the near future. Also, you might want to consider creating a group on xfire so you can manage all the people interested in playing games?
