Multiplayer Alternate Dimensions?

Playing the game multiplayer with uncle over LAn, side by side with a crossover cable. Well I happen to look at one of his planets hes fighting the enemy on (seiging) about 3-4 hours in.

I see his units seiging the planet and ignoring a starbase, So I mention it to him only to see on his screen the starbase has been destroyed.

Not only is that ou of sync but then he gets a message saying my planet needs assiatnce, and is crawling with enemy, my screen shows my planet has no enemy, and is well defended. I get a message saying his capital ship is going down, His shows peace.

Save game, reload, yet we are still playing it what appears to be alternate dimensions, in a land where we both apparently SUCK, somehow in his world I lost a planet loaded with units to a buncha small flies and he set his capitol ships next to a starbase and just kina went in circles shooting the planet...

Is there some common out of sync issue that never readjusts? Is there a patch to fix this?

Is there a windows Vista communicating with Windows 7 issue? he has 7 i have the V

I think what is happening is the devs have covertly ninja'd a new version on us so you can play two different games from within the same instance.  I think this is called the "altenate universe" mod.

This obviously is in an effort to maximize the gameplay experience:P

It's just the game de-sync-ing at a random point in the game. It happens on ICO too, but it's not as noticable.

Use tunngle, that's what I use and I have yet to have a dsync issue.
