It's too bright here, on the Beta site, on Impulse....and although people have spoken/written about it, no one has done anything about it nor even aknowleged the existence of the problem.
its the damn microsoft way ,trying to make us all blind.
even a piece of paper wth text on it isnt full on white.
thank god for the kill bright backgrounds addon for firefox or i wouldnt be able to surf the net

At least give us a choice of interface.People who work with graphics dont like working against white.Its too much contrast and makes it hard to see what stuff really looks like.
ALL my graphics apps and ALL pro apps use light to dark greys for the interface because it creates less eyestrain and dosnt alter the perception of color.
What was wrong with SKS using the system colors assigned by WB?Tabs!Buttons!...it was an agreeable work environment.
I am getting tired of all these apps that skin themselves...pretty soon WB will just be a frame,taskbar and start menu proggy.
Heck,even WB got a nice facelift...what happened with SKS?
a helpful fellow skinner tried to help me with an impulse archive but as always...they fail to restore.
Support hasnt contacted yet but it hasnt been overly long yet.
before anybody suggest purposely misadjusting my monitor...lowering the brightness would cause you to lose contrast in the shadow areas and misrepresent the light areas.
I keep it at 50% across the board,brightness,contrast,saturation.Where it was designed to run.Gamma settings dialed in,etc...cant go mucking it up just for SKS. 
You could see how your damn tabs looked right away after applying!

Though it doesn't hurt my eyes, I must agree that I don't like the new interface colors.

Agree with everything, I really dont like the design or layout at all.
We ARE customizers right? Choices would be nice.
I have found the image for the selected item in the sks UI and was able to change it (something like we did with impulse when it was that awfull green color) it's not much but it's a start. Still digging
i might consider hacking it if i knew more...but first update and it would be for nada 
it's not so much hacking as editing .pngs (something I think you are fairly good at)
True but I have a backup of any image that I have altered as well as the new images. In the long run it's not worth the trouble and I haven't figured out how to change the major things like background color and text color.
support came thru...and restore actually worked!

I dont want SKS6 back, I want 7 with some color in it....pweeze. 
You might actually want to install the SKS update which should be going up today. It has a new slider on the edit window to adjust the brightness of that window.

I'm on XP at the moment updating an old skin with SKS 5 and have 6 as the secondary SKS.
Just to be clear...SKS 7 and 5 wont run on the same OS?

SKS 5, 6 & 7 can all be installed on the same OS, though there is a risk Impulse may try to suggest otherwise. But there are no shared files between them.
