Strange Things Are Afoot At The Circle-K

Strange Sins-Entrenchment and Galaxy Forge abberant behavior?

I'm running XP(pro) and I went to \application data\ironcladgames etc. and saved a Galaxy Forge created map there--no problem.  I then then planned to go to the game to see if it was indeed seeing the game file but wanted to check the name I gave the file.  I returned to where the save folder location and the "Ironclads Game" folder was...gone.  vanished--poof!

My thought was, "No way" and I did a file search for the map I had saved (followed by a wildcard search).  It no longer exists.  So the folder disappeared and took the maps in it with it.  I was not running SINs during this process and I have view options needed selected for the folders (I always do).

Last night, for the first time, I could not get it to see any new map in Entrenchment (even a simple, no frills, newly created GF one) and even after manually adding it to the manifest file.  I could copy and paste map content to an existing map and save without renaming it and it plays fine.  But If I add a new map, no show--even with the manual add in the manifest.  Basic SINs runs them but Entrenchment is not.  I just booted up Entrenchment and it is running fine as far as I can see.  I have current, updated versions of SINs and Entrenchment now 1.181 and 1.041.

Sounds like a corrupted install (which previously has worked fine and otherwise is having no running problems) but the vanishing folder bit is odd--I thought maybe a trojan/worm, etc. but nothing shows on my system and nothing else has been affected and it isn't replicating.

This is odd behavior, I'll do a full reinstall but any comments or information about these issues from anyone here.  Are these known issues?

it pulled a houdini on you.  Well that suxs and i have no idea what could of caused that.  The only thing i would suggest doing is reinstalling the game.

Lol--yeah...that's a thought for sure.

Usually the vanishing folder is a trojan or worm type problem but I am fairly confident that isn't the case with mine (I do pc repair and build/installs freelance for years now).  Things are rapid enough in that world now to never be sure though.

I am interested if anyone else has any experience with things I mentioned though.

Bill 'n' Ted would say that this is bogus!

Are you putting the custom maps into the Galaxy Forge folder?  Do you have the most recent version of the game (v1.041 for Entrenchment) and are you making the maps with the most recent version of Galaxy Forge?  If you open up the map file in Wordpad, the second line from the top should read:  versionNumber 3

Yes to all the above.  I had been using Galaxy Forge stand alone on my desktop and then just manually moved the maps there when they were done but when I had the Entrenchment suddenly stop seeing new maps I decided to move GF to the specified directory--no problem.  The the folder vanished completely off my computer (along with the two maps I had in it). Puzzling because I have had no issues up till today.

I'll uninstall and delete registry entries and the like then try a clean install and start from scratch again.  Just weird.

Man, that sucks.  Hope a reinstall fixes it for you.

Perhaps my time traveling disrupted the system.  I'll ask Rufus to go back and do a temporal anaylsis of the machine's past.  Be awesome to one another dudes.
