Error when uploading to WC

from WinCustomize Forums

Never had a problem b4 uploading my stuff here but since lately i keep get this error.

"Your skin has failed to upload.
The skin file you are attempting to upload is not valid. Hint: Check the file extension.
When uploading a new skin, your Skin file must also be submitted."

nothing has change on my rig,plus I've done this b4 the exact same way without that error.

Any help would be appreciated...thanks in advance

It would help a moderator looking at this to know what type of skin and it's name so they can check it out for you. :sun:

I have errors when uploading if I use Chrome.  As soon as I use FireFox, it works perfectly!!!   ;)

using firefox,will try with chrome and report back.

I have FF 3.5.7 .     Have you tried IE?

A couple of things to check out -

First check and see if you are using Flash 9 or Flash 10.

Having Flash 10 is the most common issue.

 

Have you tried both upload links?

I am at my wits end!  I have been trying to upload a blind all afternoon.  I have tried for a total of about 5 times now...always get that same error as above.

The first time I tried to upload, I discovered I had Flash Player 10 on my system, so I uninstalled it via Adobe's uninstaller/cleaner, rebooted, and installed flash player 9 and rebooted again.  I deleted all of my cookies/temp files/browsing history. 

All of the other attempts showed a wierd thing in the status box during the upload:  It showed this series of numbers tacked on to the end of my preview image:  Now Uploading Parched Ice WB Preview634000344929218443.jpg.  It never showed that it was uploading the WBA file either...even though it had the correct size of the two files listed.

I have tried the two links noted above in this thread as well, but the same thing happens. 

One other thing:  the upload page shows "erroron page" in the lower left corner.

The name of the Files I am trying to Upload are Parched Ice.wba and Parched Ice WB Preview.jpg.  The wba file is 2mb in size, and the jpg file is around 455 kb in size, so I know those aren't issues.

Geez....this is bizaare!  I got fed up and just re-installed Flash Player 10, re-booted, and attempted to upload the blind again, using the 1st link provided above....and, it worked!

It wouldn't upload with 10 before, it wouldn't upload with 9, but now it works with 10???? :S

Just for information, I am running Windows 7, 32 bit, and IE 8.

  well as long as it works!!!  :thumbsup:

 

I have Flash 10. something , XP service pack3.  For posting I use FireFox whatever the latest version is, Chrome does not work for uploading here, but it works in other sites. BTW...Chrome is so much faster then FireFox.   I also have IE8, but I hardly use it.
