Vicious can get pretty insane. Very much enjoying playing against it and usually losing. Unfair is no challenge anymore. ![]()
vicious is the closet thing to playing with another Human, I find sometimes online play is easy, but pwning an vicious AI is like fighting a really really hard clan member. ![]()
What's the usual fleet an MP player will have at 40 minutes or so?

I'm assuming cruel and vicious cheat. Is this assumption correct?
yes, they get more in the way of resources, as to other things like tactics and ship deployment am not sure though I do see an increased use of caps
Well I have noticed that they start off very quickly.... IE start the game and watch them build in the first few minutes. Like myself I am sure we all get right to it and build. This AI is FAST. I got pissed my AI partner is always horrible. But I am now hoping I can keep up with the fast pace. I guess I can do a 2 v 6 or 8 hard or unfair gametype now.
That could simply be explained by having more resources available. I have not yet heard of any indication that the AI has gotten any smarter at these higher difficulties.
Fact remains that once you have a mature empire with a good fleet, economy, and defense, the AI is pretty much incapable of defeating you because it's just so stupid about how it fights its battles.
Yeah, they cheat too. IMO, they get an almost ridiculous multiple of our 'income' (taxes & resources). Vicious gets 5 times, and cruel gets 4 times our 'income'! Just start a game with each of the AIs, quit after a few seconds, then look at the "Total From" graphs for income, metal and crystal - the third ones down for each. From the first second, hard has 1.5 times the 'income', unfair double, cruel quadruple, vicious quintuple.
Well the new patches for normal SINS and Entrechments have listed updates to the AI. New building order, and less seige and such also. So maybe IC has been working hard on improving them beyond the income buff.
I see AI fleet is ignore my planet on frontline.
And now,I think they has more care to hostile Starbase.
moreover, maybe they can use special ability.(If it's not my mistakes...)
AI researches better so they end up with abilities on their ships, and they can use capital ship ultimates as well as buy cap ship levels up to 6 (human players are still limited to 4). Watch out for Vicious TEC with a couple Marzas ![]()
I havent seen pirates with cap ships yet....
I should try losing more often.....
1 Vicious Ai isnt that hard
need to play Distant Stars then
we got Pirates with Cap ships
and a starbase at home ![]()
Vicious AI are still prone to getting wrecked by 40k pirate missions. ![]()
To me, playing a Vicious AI is like playing someone who is patently bad at the game but can always get an economy that is through the roof. They aren't smart...but you aren't going to be able to outmuscle them. When I say outmuscle, I mean having a larger fleet than them.
I will give it a try thanks ryat
That's nothing, I was playing Distant Stars and I got attacked by multiple level 9 capships plus attendant fleet.
oh finally i got some chance to see any AIs that can match my eco stats really nice info thnx
Is the AI really that bad? I thought that the hard AI was quite good, but perhaps it can still not compete with those who have played this game for more than 1000 hours or so.
@ GJDreiessen try a 1v9 im sure you could stomp them before report back in 30 mins after you start and tell us of your resignation ![]()
In that situation you lose because of scripted multitasking with overwhelming ships and high resources, and not because you were outsmarted.
In reference to GJDreissen's statement

The old sins, OG even:) 1v9 comp stomp could be done while watching comedy central, in the other room taking a nap. So to have him see for him self I suggested a test.
Its not so much as the AI is bad. But after a point you start to learn the habits and such of the AI. So you can now predict it, making the AI seem very easy.
For example, the AI always rushes and/or attack with a large LF fleet every game, every first battle. So all you gotta to do from the get go is get LRF. Your first encounter with the AI is now easy/eaiser.
Over time you learn for lack of a better word to exploit against the AI. With Diplomacy, the AI is much much better yet it still haves is habits. Like the LF fleet. Just expect more numbers now.
Once you learn the personality of the AI you can fight 1vsX. Pre Diplomacy there were many who could do 1vs9 Unfair, while watching TV, while writing a thesis, while curing cancer, while ending world hunger. LOL But from what Ive heard Ive yet to hear somone win against 1vs9 Vicious. I think JJ has beat 1vs5-6. Anyhow, point is the AI is much better than it was and IMHO is great.
Hard 1.5X's
Unfair 2X's
Cruel 4X's
Vicious 5X's
I have actually just beat 1 v 9 vicious... they are still pretty stupid. I had 2 planets on the frontline with fully upgraded starbases and instead of concentrating a large fleet to take out one of them the AI instead sent 2 smaller fleets (2 caps and 30 ships) against both planets simultaneously which let me easily decimate them.
