[Feature] New Login Prompt

Password managers can't use

The new style of login prompt looks fantastic, but password managers generally don't work with non-HTML objects (i.e. Silverlight, Flex/Flash, etc.). At least, mine doesn't (Norton Internet Security 2009).

don't worry it is an html object :)   you shouldn't have problems with your password managers, if you are having trouble with them currently its probably because we are still having some login related bugs

"we are still having some login related bugs"

So they will be repairing the login to show that a person is actually logged on to the site after putting in their info? I "logged in" about five times, then started to question my memory and checked that I was typing the proper p.w. , before I reallized that I was logged in , it just didn't show me as having done so.

The layout will take some getting used to but over all, I personally like it. I haven't found it yet , but is there a field to change the background color? (Not a big fan of baby or sky blue....)

I'm curious as to why it displays my e-mail  address on logging in instead of Wizard1956. I like the old WC way. And where is my avatar?

hmm, did you use your e-mail to login?  I logged in using my username and it shows up there...  The avatar isn't on the main page right now and only shows up in comments/on your user page.

These login issues should be resolved now, let me know if you are still having issues.

She's fixed, says I'm me and has a link to log off now instead of still the login one. Thanky!

[edit] Oh ya, and I agree with Wizard, I miss my avatar. though I see it IS on this forum within the beta.

Login works great!

(shouldnt it say Log In though, not Log On?)

For whatever reason,my username when logging on to the old WC has always been my e-mail address. I just tried using my  WC nick instead.

I'll be a monkeys uncle. That worked and looks much better.   Thanks for the info.

Thanks Kestral.  I'll double-check using Norton when I get back home and on my own laptop.  Silly corporate laptops don't have user-friendly software installed... :p
