If they brought Joss Whedon's Firefly back and started making new episodes, would you watch?

Lets try and get as many votes as possible and maybe we can actually get it back! =D

firefly was dull, had worse storylines then BSG, and stargate was better. i hope the fire in the fly has burnt out.

I have only one word to describe a statement like this:

HERESY

Have you prepared an appropriate plea for this charge?  Keep in mind for the charge of heresy there is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

Stargate was "DIFFERENT"  not better.  Firefly wasn't in your taste, I respect that.  But don't hate on the show because you don't like its style.  (IDK...to me it had a Space Cowboy feel to it...)

i don't mind that style i just didn't like firefly, don't hate on me for not being a fan of the show. i like dollhouse though. in my view firefly just lacked the fun of sci-fi

My nineteen year old son watched his first Firefly episodes tonight--the pilot--with my wife and I and his comment in the middle of them was, "They canceled this!?".

He's pretty smart ;)

@Babylon 5 yes but it was cutting edge back then,

hell yes i would watch firefly why the hell did they even kill it in the first place, i would have to say its the best ever sci fi so  far its more epic then avatar, i would have to say avatar is crap vs firefly but sadly i only rented it so far i will have to buy it and try to get my dad to watch it he doesn't like sci fi but loves westerns and war movies he might like it but i can't be sure he will like it at all.

the movie was set way after where firefly stopped, though they are doing a comic of it might have to have a look into that. wonder what woulda happened if they did it in manga, manga looks way better then normal comics.

stargate will never be great as firefly was, stargate did over kill on the science side as where firefly has ignored it and focused on the charaters and the theme of a western and how humans won't fix problems that can never really be fixed.

My last post inverted for you, killz.  They're two different styles of show.  They can't be compared.

Rm860:  I wasn't hating on you.  And to the rest of your last post, name one show in the same Space-Cowboy style as Firefly, and I'll etract my comment to you, but until then, I'ma stick with it being you not liking the style.

Does Cowboy Bebop count? (It's animated.)

I loved that series, despite the inclusion of yet another tweaked-out teen character (she wasn't that bad an instance of the trope).

Ahem.  I assume you don't mean Edward...

And I didn't ever really see much of a cowboy theme there, though I admit it was present overall.

Honestly, I saw more of a cowboy theme in Andromeda...The two shows had a lot of similarities(Firefly and Andromeda)

Small crews, avoiding the law and whatnot.  Granted, one was trying to establish a new law, but really, I see firefly as the other end of the coin, or maybe, what came before.

IDK.  Hard to explain.  Just watched Firefly on netflix last night.  Was there really only 14 episodes made???

Yup, 14 and the movie.  What a waste of potential eh?

i guess we have shit like Idol and So you think you can dance and big brother etc to blame for decent shows like firefly being cancelled...

at least we have something classy in its place [/sarcasm]

Yes, I meant Ed, but I was maybe a little too harsh. She's a way above-average rendition of the squeaky-jumpy-facemaking teenibopper. I liked the character despite not liking that general class of characters. The show maybe didn't have as many visual 'cowboy' notes as Firefly, but the basic gang and their adventures seem kinda similar to Firefly, to me anyway.

There's always old episodes of BSG:cylon:

And Andromeda...Good old Andromeda...Too bad the rumors of a spinoff series were just rumors...

Well, most SciFi series that don't resort to cheap broken plastic noses and a can of paint to create an alien are above average, but firefly was really good.

Star Trek The Next Generation was the worst. All the "aliens" looked like humans with minor physical differences.;P

Which is why b5 is so much better than it...

honestly, i reckon the future of Sci Fi is in games and books, not tv anymore

i mean, Mass Effect, Crysis, Fallout, Command and Conquer...

and a whole host of books im not going to even try to list

such a shame

Indeed, Jayne, and by extension Firefly, was awesome.

"You know what the chain of command is?  It's the chain I beat you with until you realize who's in charge."

And Simon about Jayne: "You're like a trained monkey... without the training."
