No ship texture : O

I cannot get ship textures to appear. The ships without them look so blah, if thats not an understatement. I turned all other settings off even, and they still don't appear. I only have 512mb ram, but my graffics card sound card and such are no older than 5 years, even if it lagged I would turn the textures on. But they just don't work! any help?

Do you mean that your ships are appearing as flat shaded 3D models, or that they're showing as icons?

Flat shaded 3D models. The are 3D and have shape, but no surface texture. This is on Galcivs II DL just so you know. If you need some more system info for my PC just ask, and thanks for answering so fast : >

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The location you'll find the debug.err in varies depending on which game you're playing:

Dread Lords: My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2
Dark Avatar: My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar
Twilight of the Arnor: My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor

Older versions may store the debug directly in the location the game is installed at.

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Yeah, that video card is well below the minimum requirements. Try the workaround described in reply #2 of this thread if you want to try and get textures working with what you've got. It's intended for Geforce4 MX cards, but the issue's the same. Failing that, you need a new video card or (preferably) whole machine.
