Sins type of scifi books

Who knows any books that have the kind of Sins stories of huge space empires battling each other in space? Any good suggestions for authors and/or titles?

David Weber's earlier honor harrington novels are pretty good. They focus around a couple of characters, but the backdrop is an interstellar war that swells to rather epic proportions several books into the series. The success seems to have gone to Weber's head, though, because the last couple of books have been way longer than they should have been, and suffer mightily for it, I think.
The publisher, Baen, has a "free library" where they provide a bunch of full ebooks free, and you can get the first couple in the series from there.
It's definitely "light" reading.
Jack Campell's The Lost Fleet is almost only about huge space battles. There is character development to carry the story but this can be quickly skimmed until the next epic battle once you have read a couple of the novels.
Amazing descriptions of space battles that raised the bar on how fiction depicts this subject.
Two books, _On Death Ground_ and _Shiva Option_ by Weber and White.
Huge fleets, transiting warp-worm-holes. Battle stations, mines, various ship classes, missile and beam and slug weapons. Short range fighters launched from carriers.
The works.
I got a bunch of responses summer before last when I asked about space opera stories. I've since gone on a fantasy binge on account of the Elemental beta, but I'm still planning to check out a few things from that thread that I haven't already read, like the Honor Harrington novels. I don't play Sins, but I think you might like the story that made me write that old post, Scott Westerfeld's "Succession" (published as "The Risen Empire" and "The Killing of Worlds" in the US).
I'll second LTjim's suggestion, those Weber books are much better than the ones that I suggested for Sins-style battles.
Thanks guys. I think have some excellent suggestions now!
