Chek out how Google used to look like in its initial days.

The logo was designed using Gimp and before google.com it was google.stanford.edu.

And this was the whole google setup when it started

Also, Froogle, Google's product search service which was in Google labs only is now on the main google page, though still in beta stage.

That's incredible. I love google... it rocks. I feel sorry for search engines like dogpile that still haven't figured out that simplicity is better.
