Hello Distant Stars players!!!

We are pleased to start promoting a community around the mod we love to create and you love to play!

This topic is to help promote online play. No matter what you play, PvP, PvAI or PvPvAI! We will be having regular game times for everyone to gather and join up playing Distant Star!

The meeting place for setting up any Distant Stars game is currently Channel 'Distant Stars' on ICO. Once your there feel free to set up games among each other! Another thing we would like to promote is using Distant Stars in your game name. For example here are some game names: Distant Stars 1, Distant Stars 2, etc etc. You are all smart people. :P

A Quick Rundown:

We have recently started using Teamspeak to exapand the fun we can have. We encourage you to drop in and socialize with us! Any questions about the status of the channel can be directed to -Ue_Carbon.

Feel free to post up game time beyond the current set times, and letting us know your ICO name so we can add you to the list!!! We will hopefully see some of you ingame!!!

 Warning:

Be sure to turn your graphics settings down to lowest and turn off all of the special effects like bloom and skyboxes...  You're dealing with net traffic and other people's computers so to avoid unnecessary desyncs or disconnects, do your part and turn everything down.

We also suggest you Trim your Empire Tree to reduce mid-end game lag. Play with only the minimum ammount in your Empire Tree as you need!

actually its an issue with the Gunships a new class of SCs, if you have any gunships assigned to the Halcyons and you use the Anima Tempest you will get a mini dump. Its been cleared up with the .97 edition, but tonite if you use Halcyons either avoid the gunships or Anima Tempest, oh and the Anima Tempest is on Autocast automatically so you need to pay attention and set it to manual if you have gunships for the Halcyon.

Im am trying to temp Nancy into releasing a hotfix patch before the game meeting time tonight. Might makes some confusion b/c everyone will have to download the patch but it will remove the minidump.

All of the people in a game must be using this file or it will cause sync/checksum issues between clients the new checksum you should be aiming for is:

here is a replay of one of the Sunday games, me as "Lord Brain"

Game was very funny i think, got a little weak starting point (and truly never played with DS- Pirates before they are soooooooo mean) One time i forget to set the bounty on Nacey and then the game was over for me as i tried  to fight the pirates instead of just letting them destroy the one planet.  After that i got rolled :D

Hehe that was indeed a fun game, although my god you were a pain in the ass :P lol Well played there mate.

We'll have to all have a game in the future without the pirates on the freshly released 0.99 version of DS ;)

Under the players list is a button call change/create channel, click on that then type in Distant Stars.
