Epoch III is no fun

1. Pantheon doesent allow to change sides...at least for me, dunno bout you.....annoying!

2. Due to stat reset....the noob games get filled up with good players hoping to stomp someone....annoying!

3. Due to reset of played games i cannot see how trained someone is.....annoying!

Use windowed mode.

1. Then you should have wait for one side to be filled up and by checking opengames.asp choosing the one which has less active players in it. Not that hard.

2. Host a "no newb" game. Mostly people are rather honest. Also, we knew this was coming right? So if you added notes before Epoch III you can see which players are good and who aren't, in the games I host I mostly have played (and thus have a note on) 50%+.

If newbs join a "no newb" game put a screen and write about him/her in the Hall Of Shame.

Odd.  I've never had issues with alt tabbing, and I never run windowed mode.  It might be a driver issue.  Windowed mode will fix that though.

Pretty positive it's not a driver issue.. I can alt tab out of any other game just fine.  I can alt tab out of demigod just fine... but when I alt-tab in a lobby on demigod, it crashes 75% of the time.  Same for mostly all (there might be one person?) of the group of ppl I play with.

I agree

Great statement theutus :P
I can alt tab all I want, the only moment I shouldnt do it is on start up of DG. Doesnt crash ever.

Secondly, I didnt think it was possible to switch sides last epoch either, at least I couldnt.

I do have to agree on the reset of stats, I have heard people say they wanted a bad winn/loss ratio because they could get into games that way. But then again those people are quite lame and you wouldnt make the same misstake twice, at least I hope you are smarter then that. ;)

I think he is generally complaining about it. He does not realise that being able to switch sides during Pantheon makes the whole concept pointless. It would be like being able to switch between factions in a Galactic War like in Total Annihilation or Supreme Commander.

Except that there is absolutely no point to being on any particular side.  You don't get any perks or bonuses or even a reward if your "team" wins.  So they are just random PUG's with the DG pool restricted to a certain set.  Its a meaningless distinction, and the lack of any auto-assignment feature simply adds further delay in getting a game going.

YOu know when I said the same thing, people agreed with the other person ho said I was wrong

So maybe i have to excuse myself, it seems to be all my fault!

I think i just didnt understand the meaning of pantheon. I thought its a quick auto match option for lazy people who just want to start a game quickly. I agree with the random map and game mode selection, i agree with the random team setups, BUT please let me choose the Demigod I want to play.

So...removing the Dark/Light restrictions at all would solve it in my eyes.

I agree. There could still be light and dark distinctions by giving each demigod a light and dark skin. how is a suit of armor with nothing inside that continues to fight not evil?

No, that was Skirmish. Stardock decided to remove that, since only a few people were playing in it. As I have said in other threads before, in my opinion they should bring back skirmish and remove the Pantheon concept. If we had only Skirmish, I think there would be more players in Skirmish than in Pantheon right now.

The metagame of the Pantheon is just not worth all the downsides. Imho there is no metagame at all present, since I don't care about the dark and the light side that much. Certainly not as much as I would care for my faction in a Galactic War for example.

Even the statistics show that Epoch III "is no fun". There are considerably more people on the Forces of Light (== Assassins side) than on the Forces of Darkness (== Generals side). The Epoch III Generals vs Assassins tournament started out with the Light side always being stacked in the Pantheon queue and waiting for some Generals to join. However, despite the high numbers of Assassins present in Pantheon, the stack has shifted (or is at least starting to shift) to the Forces of Darkness Pantheon queue, probably meaning that a lot of the Assassins are playing less or not at all anymore.
