[suggestion] spies allow reading enemy ally chat

The title says it all. A technology that allows you to read what the other team is talking about in their chat. Of course this would make sense in multiplayer games only (or do allied AIs talk to each other? lol). Would you like to see have something like this?

Interesting idea... But do you really want to know what they're saying?!?!

imo you see this in clan matches, but not in normal public games. as this would be a tech you can research it would be up to the players if they research it or not.

Not the text, no. As mentioned, teamspeak would break it, and would be very unfair if the other team had no such ability. If, on the other hand, we could see the transactions (missions, resource transfer, etc), that would be more acceptable.

yes... a level 8 tech that does this would be cool (the end game diplomacy tech... i guess...

but... then third party programs get in the mix to bypass this issue... and we reach a high level of gay.

As has already been mentioned, with workarounds like teamspeak this wouldn't necessarily be fair.  I can't see this working as a result.  Being able to spy on transactions, sure, but communications won't work.

I think you're on to something with the transactions idea.  I don't MP much, but wouldn't it help to know if an enemy player was being fed lots of resources before his ships arrive on your doorstep or his defenses have been built excessively?

Heh. Wouldnt it boost your ego if you attack and "omg jj is coming feed me or i die" pops up on your screen?

Less fun when people spam the lyrics to "Love Train".

"People all over the world (everybody)
Join hands (join)
Start a love train, love train"

With things like teamspeak. This is not good at all.  Plus is pointless multiplayer. We need tech that works for both.
