Strike Craft?

After playing Sins, I have noticed that my TEC strike craft keep getting demolished by the Advent's.  We both have the same amount when we start and there are no flak frigs, and he only loses about half of his.  Is this because the TEC have weak fighters or do the Advent have better weapons?  And where do the Vasari's rank?  So, can someone just label the best - weakest fighters and bombers by race?

Did the Advent player have a Halcyon carrier capital ship?  The Halcyon has an ability called Telekinetic Push (aka "Pimpslap") which can push away your strikecraft and damage them.


I can think of two other possibliities.  (1) The Advent researched the weapons upgrade for fighters.  (2) The Advent had a Rapture captial ship which has an ability that can amplify its strikecraft's damage.

I didn't see any Halcyon or Rapture around in the fight. I guess it must just have been research.

Advent Fighters are the best SC for Fighter combat, with 9 Fighters per squadron. Each Advent Fighter has 40 HP and 1.5 DPS (Or 1 DPS, not entirely sure). Whereas TEC squadrons have only 6 Fighters, each with 75 HP and 2/2.5 DPS. In an actual Fighter-Fighter battle, Advent fighters are more likely to be the victors.

Generally though, Vasari have the best SC for attacking frigates, because of their Phase Missiles and better durability (1 Vasari Fighter has 95 HP). Advent Bombers are exceptional, with 7 Bombers per squadron, but their Fighters are exceptionally frail against Flak. TEC SC are more of a middle ground between the Vasari's strong-but-few squadrons and Advent's many, but frail, squadrons.

So, if vasari attack with fighters an advent should get fighters himself while if a vasari is being fighter rushed by an advent he should get flak. Is that correct?

In the first situation, the Advent player would be best off with Flak frigates. Usually, Fighter vs Fighter scenarios are the worst case, as it still takes Fighters time to kill off each-other, whereas enough Flak will disintegrate Fighter swarms. Having a Halcyon Carrier or two in particular is very good against SC in general; Telekinetic Push will deal a good amount of damage to any nearby SC and send them flying in multiple directions.

When an opponent is spamming Fighters, Flak is still the best way to go.

NEVER EVER Go into an even numbered fight with SC against Advent.........hell that goes for any faction. You always want to out number them. While they have the same number of squadrons. They dont have the same number of SC per squadron. Always do your best to go in with 3:1 odds in your favor.

however... if you cant go in with overwelming numbers (cause... your not doing to well maybe)... consider investing in telekinetic bitchslap, flack burst, magnatize (works best agaist vasari SC... pathetic agaist advent SC) phasic trap (on vas ent hanger bays) or jam weapons.
