[MOD][UI] Bman's Rampaging Minion Overlay 0.6

Features
- Displays the number of minions you control under the ability button for that minion type.
- Displays health indicators of each minion (green=healthy, yellow=about half health, red=almost dead).
- Click on a health indicator to select that one minion (or hold SHIFT to add to selection).
- Click on minion count to select all minions of that type.
- Hover mouse over health indicator to display rollover information for that minion.

Notes:
This is a User-Interface mod, so it doesn't require anyone else to have it installed.

How to Install:
Easiest way is to download the installer and just run it.  It will take care of everything for you.  If you prefer, you can download the ZIP archive and extract the folder into the Mods directory for Demigod.
eg. C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Demigod\bindata\mods

How to Enable:
Inside Demigod, and under the Mod Manager, simply enable the mod!

If you have problems, make sure that your directory setup is akin to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Demigod\bindata\mods\Bman Rampaging Minion Overlay\mod_info.lua

Files modified (for mod conflict checking only):
lua\ui\game\AbilityButton.lua (merge-friendly so compatible with other mods that modify this file as long as they are either merge-friendly or designed to load before this mod)

Known Issues/Planned Features
- Currently only works with Totem abilities (does not yet work with special minions like Yeti or Shamblers etc).

I didnt read all comments, but here are some Bugs i have noticed:

 

1.
When i spawn minions, monks for instance, they will both be green dots which is correct. If one of them dies and i respawn the dead monk, it sometimes just shows one of them.

2.
Same scenario, one monk dies, i respawn the dead one. Another bug now, if one of them gets dmg, one of the dots(usually the right one) disappears again and the left one begins to blink in all colores.
This sometimes fixes itself when both monks die and you spawn both again.

3.
Sometimes it wont show the correct color. If the monk is low, it will still show green. But this happened only once to me.

 

I like this mod very much, so please fix those issues. Thank you already.

 

A Suggestion:
Could you try to make it possible to set hotkeys for minions. I dont know why the fuck its not just in the game but it may be possible to add it.

There are already hotkeys for them:

5,6,7 is for summoning, and 8,9,0 is to select them.

ah, so those are the buttons for them. I remapped them to H, Y, C, V for me so I couldn't tell him in that post that he created asking just this. Then I tell him that this feature already exists and he is like LOL YOU DONT HELP ME AL ALL >.<

I tried to scan all the posts before submitting a bug, but apologies if this is already known.  If you have two or more different types of minions summoned and then decide to sell one type, it may show the wrong minion type as sold.  For example, if I have archers and priests summoned and decide to sell the archers, it will show priests as greyed out and archers as active (this is a consistent bug, as it's happened everytime I sell off archers while priests are present).  Overall, I love the mod as it's extremely helpful keeping track of my minions through the chaos of all the fights.

Lordi17 - I found a bug in the code that would occur if the right minion died which would cause most of the behaviour you noticed.  Am fixing it now.

spector_0_0 - That one is strange.  Does it occur even if you have the mod disabled?  I've noticed bugs in the main game - it especially gets upset if you sell a totem while it is on cooldown - but not if you rclick the totem from your inventory instead of from your ability bar.  Anyway I'll see if I can repeat it since you say it is consistent.

Edit: Yep I just confirmed the bug is in the main game--not the mod.  Never rclick your ability bar to sell a totem.  Always rclick the buttons on the left of the buy/sell screen to sell your totems.

ok 0.6 is uploaded.  fixes all known bugs.  Adds support for special minions for everyone except the vampire minions.  Added right-click on health indicator to center the camera on that minion.

Good one! thanks for the fixes :D

 

But i ask again for the possibility to add a hotkeys for minions. Meaning not both of one type or just all but to select a single one with a hotkey. I just need a specific selection with a hotkey(only one monk and one archer in a hotkey for instance).

Would be nice if you could handle this.

From what I know, I don't really think that is possible. Why it wasn't added originally is beyond me, as it's a game mechanic that has existed for eons.

[BUG]

The health indicators for special minions sometimes do not appear even if I control (as Oak) less than 4 spirits (level 1 ward). I don't even think it's necessary to have health indicators for special minions, but definitely the number of minions is important. Just my idea.

If individual dots for each special minion is too much, you could always just use one dot which monitors the overall health of your special minions in existance.

Indivial dots for idols is great, I like it. But for general minions, it just seems unecessary, because for spirits or nightcrawlers, they spawn as enemy dies, QoT shamblers are usually used for mulch, and sedna's Yetis, well no one actually uses them :D

so maybe if you could just remove health indicators for general minions, but keep the number count.

Oh that's not a bad idea.  For Oak/Erebus, one big dot showing the average health of the army.  That'de be kind of neat!  Just a thought.  GREAT WORK! thank you thank you thank you thank you

 

With this mod, I think demigod now includes everything I ever wanted it to.

I've now started to experience when I sell my minions to upgrade (through the merchant window icon) that the icon for my new minions does not show up in my minion bar.  I've tried reselling but it doesn't update.  This can be game breaking for a Sedna without her priests. :(  Sadly, this only has happened in Pantheon.

I think something like this happened to me when I sold them at the Citadel. It lost me a 1v1 haha

you can always resummon out of your character page. open up stats window and click on minion icon there
