New Content = More Playing = More Sales

More people and more games have been going up on the asp page since the patch was released.

So maybe if you release more content over shorter periods of time...

Just saying =P

There were 56 current games at one point yesterday... I also saw 16 games open at once. So many that a scrollbar had to  appear, which is the first time I've ever seen it. Needless to say I was shocked about these things.

No kidding.  I'm very happy to see more and more games up.  Glad to see people are coming back and/or buying the game.

The number of players online lately has been awesome... I just wish more than 50% of the games were actually open and not passworded. Hopefully once all of the new people get done testing DA against AI they will start playing MP games. Would be nice to see 4-6 games open at all times :D

I commented last week that I hadn't been playing any DG until the 1.2 patch came out.  I figured there was a substantial number of people, like me, waiting for the patch.  The new DG's are obviously a draw, but I think the real appeal is the modding support coming online.  I've noticed several dormant modders from the beta days resurfacing.

If dev support for the game stays strong, modders start getting their groove on and holiday sales come together this game could see a strong resurgence.

Modders have their groove on.  We just need some new maps (MAKE WITH THE SDK SD!).  mrappard is working on at least one.  Haven't heard from scottish in some time, though.

Hmm I do agree with this, and judging from GPG and Stardock's history (seperately), it's likely to keep up. There's a lot of things they can do with this game, and just like Gal Civ 2, this game will probably be receiving stuff for years to come. Stardock and GPG don't bail on their games.
