Game play questions...

I know these are probably pretty much newb questions but so far everyone' been pretty cool about answering my initial questions so here it goes.

I'm playing the demo till I get the bundled pack from my kids for my birthday next month.  Having a great time.  I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get my LEV Construction Frigates to Phase jump to other planets.  I've tried grouping but when the ship I grouped them with jumps, the LEV stays behind.  How do I get them to other planets?

That's the only question I have for now.  Stay tuned for more, I'm sure.  Thanks for helping out!

They won't phase jump.  If you want to have construction frigates at another planet, you need to colonize it first.  :seal:   So send over your capital ship and a couple frigates to kill off the militia and then send your colnizer frigate (or your cap if it's a mothership that can colonize) to take the planet and a construction frigate will appear for you instantly.

What Dirty said.

Glad to see you are enjoying Sins. It's a lot of fun, but it can be confusing. I remember when I first started playing it took me forever to get everything down. Don't be afraid to ask questions, there are plenty of people here who are more than glad to help! We all were beginners once! ^_^

jetheren is right, we all were beginners at some point, and some of us remember what it was like and want to help ease the transition to people the enjoy the play & possibly want to make different maps and or alterations to the game(mods) to increas our enjoyment of the game

I found it helpful to run through the game tutorial a couple times, say once a week during my first month of play.  I did it so that I could pick more advanced knowledge about how to manage things, such as how to cycle through units, that I might not have paid attention to at the very start.

Okay...I can't believe I got not 1, not 2, but 4 EXTREMELY postive replies (and 2 from DirtySanchez) regarding my question.  Thanks to all of you!  I sincerely appreciate it!  Now I must wait till 12/10 (or whenever my kids decide to give me the game) for my birthday gift.  So will play what I got now & ask more questions.

Half tempted to get the manual printed out too.  Think it's worth it?  Are there any other Sins fan run web pages anyone can recommend?

Thanks again all!  I think I made a good choice with this game.

i remember my first game i moved to the next planet and freaked out when i saw the militia there (was a desert planet, so alot of ships) and i was thinking OMG, the AI in this game is REALLY hard... =P i ended up skirting that entire planet until ages into the game when i realised it was militia...

Some of the manual is an interesting read, as it will give you some story background and information on each of the ships.  If you're interested in that, go for it.  Otherwise, I read it once or twice but otherwise never looked back.

WELL CRAP!!!

The demo evidently has a 90 minute time period on a game!  *sigh*  X(

yeah, they string you along good, leaving you wanting more

but then again, that is the point of demos

SoaSE was the fastest game I've ever bought after using a demo, I liked it so much. I didn't need further testing. Normally I'll spend quite a bit of time with the demo before relenting and buying the game.
