Where r all the players gone?

dunno why, but last weekend i expected more games online. it was hard to find/fill a game.

did we lose again players because of not getting patch 1.2 on wednesday?

can some1 tell me the number of online players we now have? the real number

and can some1 tell me the number of sold games?

sometimes i feel like there r only 50 players worldwide who play demigod

Many have quite before this. Many are quitting as we speak. Hopefully much of them will come back with 1.2 or the new demis.

Perhaps a few that came back expecting 1.2 are holding off until 1.2 does go live (hopefully this thursday).   If we actually lost players for good because of another 1 week delay, then oh well.  I've been playing less while I wait for the new version.

lets hope with 1.2 and new demis we get them back

Those are fair enough questions, Democracy.  You'll just have to look over the grammar nazis who occasionally frequent these forums.

I don't think that Demigod sold particularly well, especially given the connectivity issues at release, mixed reviews, and slow pace (and amount) of additional content released.  I, too, am disappointed with the number of games posted at any given time, but hope that the new demigods will bring more people in/back.  It is a really good game, and I hope that GPG/Stardock can come up with about 4 more demigod and four more maps before throwing in the towel.  Frankly, I think that it is much better than anything else in this genre (like League of Legions and Heroes of Newerth), but just lacks enough content--particularly demigods--to give it longevity, which means continuing sales over time.

I made a post about the online numbers awhile ago.  Actually, your 50 players worldwide at one time isn't too far off of the real number.  The total number of players either waiting in a lobby or playing in a game is now between 100-200 players.  It's not much....

Well, Frogboy is at least frequently telling us that people are still buying Demigod "like crazy" (which I guess he means in relation to overly popular games like Modern Warfare 2 for example ;)). Judging by that Demigod seems to have considerable success.

Demigod actually sold pretty well.

The thing is, once you lose an audience you lose them for good. There is an initial bubble of players who play for the novelty, but very few stay for the long run. The new Demigods and mod support might bring back a few players and the deals might attract a few more, but that is it. Let's be honest, everyone said that everyone was waiting for the fixes to connectivity and look at where we are now.

I'm one of those who don't play Demigod at the moment, I played it a lot after it came out, but after hundreds of games I stopped playing, I love this game and I will come back to it when 1.2 AND the new demigods are out.

The irony of this post seems lost on you.

In any case, if you're having trouble getting games of Demigod running Democracy, I'd be happy to provide you with a Ready to Play Beta Key, which should help somewhat. I also recommend using the forums to contact other players to organise times to play rather than mentioning that you're having trouble finding to play with, since nearly everyone on these forums plays Demigod.

there is no irony as i never claimed such a think about others like he did. i pointed out the irony in his thread. but was obvious you would do that mistake. what else could i expect from you...

Well, if the new players, like me are biding their time until they learn more about the game, then that is why you haven't seen them online yet.  There is no tutorial in the game, and learning it can be a little steep, not much, but still.  You haven't seen me online due mainly because I'm not comfortable enough yet.

Be patient, eh?

Dude, just practice against the AI until you get comfortable with the basics.  Yes, the AI is far from perfect, but you can learn enough from it to join "noobs only" games online and do decently.  You are missing out!;)
