Demigod digital dl in the world of 56k

disclaimer - this is not discussing piracy in any way, shape, or form

So the situation is,

I live in the middle of no where and have a 56k connection. This weekend happens to be a good weekend to purchase demigod. I always wanted the game but didn't want to make a (imho) similar mistake that I made with supcom and purchase it without any patches.

So I've just purchased the digital version and am contemplating how to actually get the content.

I have people with broadband access so I can say hey, can you download that version from that site which we won't speak of.

My question is, will that version's content be able to be used with impulse or is it similar to steam where it has it's own proprietry format and must be downloaded via steam or you must obtain the gcf files?

My other option of course is to just give a friend my impulse logon details and ask him to pull the content or roll over with my desktop and use his bandwidth.

or wait 2 months for it to download on it's own.

opinons? and no I didn't opt to pay the little bit extra for the boxed copy.

You can simply log into Impulse Anywhere on his machine and get it yourself, legitimately, and toss the package on a USB drive with the Impulse installer to take home. No need to venture into "those parts" of the interwebs at all.

There is a special impulse website where you can download standalone archives of your purchased games. However, I don't remember the url. I'll get back when I find it again ;)
