Players with 80%+ win rates.

Oddly today there are 10-15 games avalable rather than the normal 5.  BUT almost all of those games have one side stacked with 80% win rate players.

The reaason there are so many active lobbies is becasue the hosts side is stacked to the max, and no one will play against that now that they can see it.  And apparently these players wont play vs each other...... For fear of having their % go down?

It seems at the moment having a high win % is a bigger liability than a low one.

Lol, always great to see a lobby full of 1/2 full games. The overlay just exposes what's been going on for quite some time.

^Yep.  When I get some time this weekend, I'm going to patch up my game, get online, and then start some games for the 30-50% crowd, of which I am a proud member!

I stumbled into one of those yesterday, and played it anyway with a partner with a good win percentage, but only about 50 games.  We got smoked, and i told him to save the replay and learn from it.  That's what I try to do.  May be playing a few less of those in the future.  I'm wondering how many of the 75%+ players really want to play each other?

You probably grabbed the wrong replay on the third game.  It's against a premade with losing records.  You certainly played good (great) teams in the first 2.  I neglected to point out that the 75% team I played against (of my own knowledge and will) were advertising for a 2v2 medium game.  http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/1026158/player/63555/  Imho, most 75% winners are way better than medium gamers.

I did not want to suggest that all players with good records avoid other skilled players.  I've had fun playing in games with some real good players.  The classy players will play other good players, the rank whores will stack, and they'll both beat me.

Whats wrong with playing in a premade, I honestly don't like to play this game by myself. I feel its much more enjoyable if my friends and I are playing together, I feel that way about most multiplayer games I play. How hard is to make friends, that you ostracize the ones that do.

IMO game is better with premades.

Nothing is wrong with playing in a premade. I do play in a premade, a good 2/3rds of my game I at least KNOW someone on my team, even if we aren't on Vent or anything, just because if no one is on from my premade I'll use the in-game IM to try to match up with someone who I've pugged before with.

I'm being satirical and stubborn, mocking the fiercly anti-premade attitude the playerbase sometimes seethes with. (not everyone, of course. Many high-level puggers accept and agree with premade. But many others don't).

Yeah, i was on when this happened too, i don't see it too often, but atleast two of those games were even labeled "premade" and i had to have seen like 4-5 premade teams on at that time...

LOL @ abuggeredhedgie

Man, i thought you were a little more well known then to receive 2(Reread, guess it was only really one)! comments about a "satirical" comment, lol, i thought it was kinda obvious, but maybe it is just me...lol

(Good playing with you the other day)

God I hate the anti premade attitude in this game.

Plz dont take this thread to be anti premade.   I agree, pemades are nessisarry for a gmae like this and are often benificial.  The problem is that becasue there was a lack of easily avalable stat in game (alt tabing sucked), there are many premades and pugs that were playing bad players only.

I myself am a mid level player.  I think the vast majority of the community falls under that catagory.  This thread was to point out the humerous fact that there will be 3 games in the lobby, each with one side full of people who have 80% win rates, who are pug or premade.

People join those games now, leave becasue realistically 3 people with an average of 50% win will lose agianst a team with an average of 80% win. As a result those 3 games never get going untill some noobs join who dont no any better, or those 80% people just have to give up.

I have hopped into some of those lobbies, and mentioned that there are 3 other games with 80% win rate player, and ask them why dont they play against them... Usually that result in a boot.  I really dont care what those poeple do, but it seems silly to keep playing people below their apparent skill lvl.

Yeah, I would like to think I'm that well-known ;)

That was a horrible game though xD That erebus refused to buy any units so he could get his Ring of the Ancients (true story). I had to sell all my stuff to get Cata/Giants and then I was walking around with 3.5k hp at level 10 -.- Plus trying new builds always makse you perform poorly xP Though that game was a masscre. Not counting the last five minutes, I think there were 15 deaths per side...

People over %80 percent plays against each other whenever they find group of 6 or 4. It is not like high stats people has an agreement and they only stomp people together. Of course there are times that pres play against pugs. But no one will reject a good game over a game against pug. Also me and my friends in game often go seperate teams and get pugs on each team to balance. But yes sometimes you just want to play with your friend, chat while playing and improve coordination.

Just think what the win % of top players would be WITHOUT all the disconnects.  I know that over half of my losses are due to connectivity issues, and most of the rest are random PUGS or messing around, etc.  I can think of two losses I've had with my actual best premade, and one of those was against a team that we beat 5/6 times.

Demigod is a game where the more skilled player/team will win 95% of the time, even if they are close.  Anyone who isn't close is just doomed.  Luckily the connectity issues hide this, for the most part, so the only people with insane percentages are the cheaters.

Orcun_BL.  I have played with/agianst you, and you are a good player, who wants a good match.  But Here is the thing, there are 3 ways to get an 80-100% win rate in this game

A: be a godly player

B: stack teams

C: cheat

Thats it. If there is another way, please let me know.  The vast majority of the community wants ballanced teams, so higher win rates are not an eliminator, but if one team as all the 80% people, then it is stacked, and noone want to play vs that.  It s screwy situation, but it is the way it is, and it was caused largly by the lack of stats.

People are just afraid to play peopl with high win rates because either they are way better players, or they like to stomp lesser players.. The ony other posibility is that they cheat (desync).

The one thing you can Hang your Hat on, however, is that if you have a less than 20% win percentage, you do/have none of those things.

I just had to say this made me lol.  Its sad but true if you have over 100-150 games and cant even maintain 35% something is very wrong.

Premades should just say "Premades!", so they fight another premade team.

I've seen sooo many games with "3v3, anyone!", and then watch as the host has his buddy, allows only another high rate win guy on his team, then kicks anyone with a high win rate on the other team.

The sad part?  I've watched a lot of "good" players do it.  Are we that cowardly?  It's a GAME!  Who cares about your numbers?  If you're a fat kid drinking Mt.Dew, a stacked win ratio won't help that.  (Switch to diet, it's the first step).

Feel free to join my game, I usually call it "no retards".  Come in with "but... but... they have a 2% advantage over us, and I want to be on that team, and and.." <kick>

Have fun, if you got a noob, try to talk to him reasonably.  Teach him/her.

Premade vs premad

PUG vs PUG

That is the ideal situation if you'd ask me. Its not fun being stomped when no one on your team will work as a team etc. I'm not anti-premade though. On the rare occasion I have friends to play with I don't really mind versing a premade. Sometimes though I will see multiple half full lobbies and I will join and see if they are premades, and tell the waiting premade team that there is another premade in a differnt lobby that they could verse to no avail. To premades like that I have no sympathy. To the premades out there that genuienly  want a good game I do have sympathy for.

Back to the subject of 80% win ratios, I'm highly suspicious of those players - except for some well known genuinely skilled players out there. Stacked teams or invalid gamestate "errors" are something I unfortunately associated with these players. Take this example; I played a game recently with someone on my team with a ~80% win rate. Worst player on our team it turned out, 0 kills and a lot of deaths. Upon our teams losing the invalid gamestate error occured - not to my surprise.

Playing for stats is just something that goes along with the ePenis syndrome associated with any competitive online experience. Not that that applies to every 80% winner out there

This game isn't competitive enough nor has a useful enough rating system for people to be stats whores.  Just play for fun.  If you want to be a stats whore, switch to a competitive RTS like Starcraft.  I personally refuse to play in a game with stacked teams no matter which side I'm on.

Have you ever heard of playing with people you like, perhaps even friends? People constantly quit games when I try to have fun with a friend I've known for over five years, personally I find them to be the stat whores or the ones trying to play the system to give themselves the best chance to win.

Individual stats on a team game, that's the point.

As long as a clan ladder is not available, Demigod will keep being a team game where people play for their personal stats.

orcun, that's not true. you are right that some of this people are like you describe, like you for example. but i've seen far more 70/80%+ people that only have this stats because they refuse playing teams with similar stats. i would say that at least the half of people with such stats are not worth there stats because of this easy mode.

i don't want to name anyone and again, i don't mean you with that. but your impression about people with such stats is limited to your friends.

anyway, that's life ;) and i keep my stats low being a pugger :P

I bought this game for my friend so we could play together, and it's a bit irritating to have people throw a fit every time they uncover our 'secret' by looking at the player info.

The real kicker is that we're both relatively new to the game. We have around 30 combined games played (albeit with a high win rate), but people with 500-1000 games will blame "people like us" for being the reason this game has so few players.

The game just isn't as fun in skirmish mode, at least with the current AI. It doesn't make sense to boot up the game with my friend and go to separate lobbies. We'd sooner quit and go play something else, then.
