Edit 2: Just for some clarification, some people might say you need to multiply the 2 into the parenthesis first before adding the numbers up, but that would be wrong in this case since the number that would be multiplied into them would actually be 48 ÷ 2 or 24 which would give you ( 216 + 72 ) which still equals 288. Multiplication does NOT take priority over division when properly following the order of operations.
