latest? They had those in WWII.

i doubt they had them in WWII, else you would speak german. In WWII they had tigers and panthers, but not leopards.

Yeah, he is. Huh, just got my tanks mixed up.

Oh, and even then, we wouldn't be speaking German. The standard German tank was tougher than the standard American tank, but we could build more of them and weren't fighting a war on our own land. Sorry, but Germnay's hesitation to take England and the war with Russia screwed you way before we got into it.

there is no amount of sherman that can beat a modern mbt let alone a leopard.

 

the discrepancy between a tiger and sherman was great enough but a leopard? that is ridiculous.

England was technically hard to take since it was an island and english were protecting their coast very well.

Germany would have succeeded to take england but the loss would have been too important compared to what they gained or so did they think.

England was quite a nice barrier in the end !

I'm not saying a WWII tank compares to anything after. What I'm saying is that America did not win because of its armor. Our biggest advantage was fighting a war which did not ravage us directly.

As for England, I'm not arguing it would be easy to take, but rather that it was a critical staging point for US forces. Without that, we would be hard pressed to fight a war abroad. And Russia just jacked up German forces.

regarding your post: america did not win because of its armor, that is true, but the idea of germany loosing the war with leopards is just unthinkable. russia would have fallen in a couple of weeks and if you remember that ~80% of german losses were on the eastern front the picture changes rapidly. i also doubt america would have committed any troops in europe with such a technological discrepancy in ground power. england too would have lost egypt very fast and so on and so forth the whole scenario is ridiculous to begin with, so lets stop here.

you're right, it is ridiculous to compare 60's tech to 40's tech. Hence why it wouldn't happen.
